Show me your Junk.
Actually, it is all hand made. He took a fiberglass mold off a real car, then made a wafer-thin fiberglass body from that mold. The chassis is all steel tubing and bicycle parts. It's so light I can pick one side up off the ground (with some effort). George builds movie props for a living, so it was kind'a "more doable" for him than it would have been for most of us. Some of his other KSR kreations are still on display in the Kinetic Museum in Ferndale, CA, and this one is hopefully going back there when I get done rebuilding it.
Oh... No Johnny Cash style about it -- it is a very accurate 1963.
Hmmm…. TMI.
But we do have fun.

Then, sometimes we have more fun than usual…

This is how it crossed the Finish Line after an axle broke. It went six miles on three wheels and a bicycle! I consider that repair a highlight of my Kinetic career.
The Blues Brothers theme came about simply because the car was already in the colors after a team of CHP officers raced it in 1995.
There is always room for more participants in the Kinetic races. Our "Daytona 500" is Memorial Weekend. 40 miles over three days.
Unfortunately, the Counterfeit Cadillac is not going to Burning Man. The body is just too fragile -- and it is not really mine to take risks with outside of KSR.
What red body? The "model T Ford" in my avatar was red for a while, and was on the Playa a couple of years. The dark red car in the piano picture is a real automobile.

Man, you mean you guys don't get enough of my hair-brained stuff in the other thread? Though I suppose those pics focus on the product and less on the junk behind it. I'll see what I can do.ygmir wrote:I bet, LeChat, you've got some nice stuff to post here..........

I found it!!
I sure wish there was a good search feature.
well, anyway,
Here's my latest "junk" that has found it's way to my "yard".
well, it didn't just find it's way, I traded an army cargo truck and trailer and comm. shelter for it.
runs and works really well. At least, so far.
I shot a 2" stream of water from the "cannon" (on top, middle) about 100 feet, maybe a little more.
no nozzel, just the open end of the pipe ( i need to find nozzels and hoses and stuff)

oohh, lookee all the cool gauges, switches, and valves

water cannon pivots at each bend
