It's legal in Michigan. But it's the doofus parent that would take a tot into a bar after dinner hrs. Though they'd probably cause far less problems then some of the drunks.

Is it still legal to take your family into a british pub for lunch?

I know it's not the same thing, and I'm certainly not saying the United Kingdom lacks for hardcore alcoholics, but a different social emphasis on beer and wine does make for somewhat different results.
