I believe that your pessimism is warranted for many areas. I do believe that America will get back on track after several years. It will be a different country but, I do believe that your kids will fly in a plane.

I hate to break up your chain of thought but, i found an interesting article on Libya. Paul Craig Roberts claims that the U.S. is trying to cut off China from oil supplies. Splitting Libya would be a part of that.
