Does anyone know the best place to get a 14 x M1 left handed die set?
Or rent one?
Or have something threaded with one?

Put down a dep. on a Ruger Mini-14 Tactical. Layaway actually. Will need a pistol permit for it due to the folding stock. In all likelyhood wifey will also go with me to get her own pistol permit as well. Might as well make it a tandem purchase like the last time
:D I'd like to get a .22LR semi-auto in a smaller frame, something to target shoot with, but also something my little burner could ease into as he gets older. Any suggestions?

Also saw the cutest little .22 single shot. Might fit the little dudeman better then my 10/22 did.

So, Sail Man, any news?
And what about this pistol permit issue?

A friend of mine wonders why a mini-14 over an AR?

Many, many choices in 22.
Keltec has a folding 22 and a pistol.
If you have any specific requirements, he might have a recommendation.

The first 30 sec he puts his finger in the trigger guard with no intent to fire, but other than that, cute video.

Come on Risky, he barely touched the trigger, he would have killed his cameraman only a little bit.

In pistols, the Draco is back at $330.
Image

The complete parts kit with the sidefolder came in and it is in beautiful shape.
They seem to be from the best kits of the non-matching parts kits.
The chrome in the bore is perfect.
And the whole thing came soaked in cosmolene.
Smells like a romanian armory.
All parts fit without work and have little wear.

The sidefolder is the best we've seen for an AK.
It is of the Tantal style which looks clunky, but it is solid and very well designed.
Full function when folded and it has retention when folded, a rare feature.
The hinge is very short and easy to operate.

The underfolder kits have milled side pieces, very rugged.

I'll go with Bushmaster in 223....a sexier gun by far.

I found it for $940.
Lot of competition in that range.

I don't care for the exposed rear housing.
As I recall, that shorter assembly is loads of fun to work with too.

It appears that current law is that rifles with folding stocks are measured in the unfolded position.
Barrel must still measure 16".

Many still think it is measured in the folded position

Got this in mail too;

According to the Richmond (North Carolina) Times-Dispatch, "A sheriff says a
North Carolina state senator shot one of two intruders at his home and
hospital officials say the man is in fair condition.

"Multiple media outlets reported that Columbus County Sheriff Chris Batten
said that 74-year-old Sen. R.C. Soles of Tabor City shot Kyle Blackburn late
Sunday afternoon."

According to the report, "Batten says the shooting occurred when two men
went to the senator's house and tried to kick in his front door. No charges
have been filed."

Now, don't get me wrong. If the fellows were indeed breaking into his home,
I'm glad the senator defended himself with a firearm. The miscreant deserved
to be shot. Chalk up another one for the right to keep and bear arms.
"What's the problem?" you ask. The problem is, the good senator is one of
the most anti-gun politicians in North Carolina. According to gun owners in
NC, Soles has made a career out of opposing lawful gun ownership for the
general public. In other words, in R.C. Soles' world, his life is worth
defending with a firearm, but your life or family (and mine) can go ahead
and rot.

Tom, you asked about a short gas tube once.
The usual reason is for a short barrel, like on the Draco.

How? What? That's like beer that doesn't cause a hangover. Brilliant! How does it work?
From TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN:
Allen (a bank robber), walks up to the teller and hands her a note that reads. "I have a gun. Give me all your cash."
The teller, however, is puzzled, because he reads "I have a gub." "No, it's gun", Allen says.
"Looks like 'gub' to me," the teller says, then asks another teller to help him read the note, then another, and finally everyone is arguing over what the note means.

In the spirit of national reconciliation I propose that anybody shot in America should receive free emergency care at the ER. That's only fair if people have a right to carry fire arms that us innocent bystanders should be protected.

You're far more likely to be shot by a criminal or a cop than by an armed citizen who fired and missed,,, and hit you. Most fire-in-defense are close range.

This is a report of a new weapon. it isn't exactly a gun.
"The feeling of "being hit" produced by the stun gun is said to be similar to that of standing in front of a firing squad. "
" succession of 60 to 100 high-velocity shock bursts per minute, each traveling at about 2,000 meters per second and lasting up to 300 milliseconds,"
How nice. Now, they can destroy tissue without an exit wound.

Wikipedia-
Noise-induced neurologic disturbances in humans exposed to continuous low frequency tones for durations longer than 15 minutes has involved in some cases the development of immediate and long term problems affecting brain tissue. The symptoms resembled those of individuals who had suffered minor head injuries. One theory for a causal mechanism is that the prolonged sound exposure resulted in enough mechanical strain to brain tissue to induce an encephalopathy. “Project Pandoraâ€

yeah, I don't see it happening........not really.
I think it's hyperbole, just aimed as "stirring it up"

any U.N. treaty, can't supersede our constitution........and, the gov. doesn't have the balls to try outright what is proposed there.

Someone from colombia was telling us about their dandy gun control system.
It has been most effective in creating a lively black market and keeping guns out of the hands of the poor.
This enables the crooks to go wild and buy more guns.

So, very expensive guns, but open access to any military weapons...machine guns, rockets, explosives.
Costs of a black market.
