*wanders in *
wow, quite the rain we got here locally last night......well, at least it'll delay fire season a little.
Had a good staff campout at "Boggs Mountain" over near Clearlake. What a nice camp area, sort of an "unknown jewel".
Wish I'da had time to visit some of the hot springs in the area.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Hooray for delaying fire season, and now that I think of it after the wet weather from this past winter I'm glad there weren't many issues with flooding/mudslides during spring thaw.
Skies in SF were gray all day yesterday. Today started that way, but looks like it'll burn off and the sun's gonna creep through soon. I was up early, but it's been slow moving - need more caffeine in my system!

Cold and rainy here. Furnace is off and at least one window open which I can't reach to shut. Time to fire up the oven and light some candles.

Rainy here yesterday afternoon and evening, but now it is sunny and warm with more warm ahead. Sorted out the wind/sun screens that I got from the tennis club, and I will have extra. If you need some, let me know off line and it is yours.
Cheers

we're heading back to the gold discovery site, cemetery in Coloma, to hopefully finish aligning the stones in an old wall and re-install the old wrought iron fencing.

HI Triken!!
yeah, I look in all the old cemeteries, to see if gold is there. It has happened before, that high grade ore is found there, since no one ever searched for it to mine in that spot.

Sea base is right off exit 84 on I-80, couple miles on the highway to Grantsville. On site there are packed gravel roads and dirt roads. Nearer the gate is the drier, more solid gravel area where the RVs and buses cluster. The property owner has grades and graveled interior roads for us. Tickets on sale now, we do sell out.Box Burner wrote:Hi AntiM. What are the roads like going to element 11. If possible I might try to atternd that this year.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
That makes a lot of sense, Yggy. Spots the old miners would have passed over because they had biggerfish to fry nuggets to find could have plenty of what we'd consider rich paydirt today. Pani and I watch some of those 'dopes mining for gold up north' reality shows, and that seems to be the case up there too. Good luck on the job, no mud!
More to paint, plus I need to prep the files I need for this week's shopbot sessions. I also need to wrangle some stuff and design a poster for what we're gonna have set up at the picnic this weekend.

Early heat wave here: 90+ with ditto humidity, "unhealthy" air quality alerts... Still resisting air conditioning. Damn. It's only MAY.

HI MDF.
yeah, looks like we're warming up, too......but we don't get the humidity you guys get,,,,,thanks be to Dawg!
ha, and the job we hoped to finish yesterday:
the gal "did the math" to decide every stone in this coping, had to be re-arranged. But, when we got it all dug, ready to move, and told her we had never moved the end stones, it blew her whole plan.......that, and I took actual "accurate" measurements of the rest of the plot (for her), and found a repeating pattern she had not noted before......short answer, she said "fill it back in and go home, I'll "re do" the math and we'll try again next week".....dang it. Well, at least get to bill for the going there and coming home.
Today I try my new "Frankencamper" lifting system.

Hi FJ: not sure if anyone will be here.......but really "what could go wrong"? I'm making a manual lift out of my overhead beam hoist structure and chain hoists, so I can manually lift the camper instead of having to use the crane.

Remember how hot and humid DC can get. Feel sticky just thinking about it. Get someone to spray you down like we do on Playa, MDF. Thanks for the coffee, YG. Wold love to see the raising of the Frankencamper. Has to be quite a spectacle. Chin up, GD. If it's gonna happen in 2015, you have plenty of time to figure out how to avoid whatever it is. Morning FJ.
Saw the SF Giants lose to Oakland for the 3rd straight game last night. Unusually balmy night with a ton of hits a few home runs and too many errors. Always fun to be at the ball park!

Marty, heading out to St. Louis for the Friday through Sunday series with the Cardinals. For the Saturday night game I'll be right behind third base about a dozen rows up wearing my GIANTS shirt. The other two games have seats in the ultra luxury boxes getting my drunk on. Me and Blowphish will be having a pretty darn good time. Please Gmen, just don't get swept.

everyone is off to a great start it seems.
GD, wow, In most stories, the thing the person does to avoid the future event they've been warned about, is the thing that causes it. It's a trap! Carry on like you don't know. or start keeping a diary.
hmmm, no work today, no likely encounters with upset strangers... means:
