JT resigned, and it's for the good of the community, we applaud his decision to step down so that we, as a community, can move past this, learn from it, and start making some goddamn art and get ready to burn shit.

let's walk a mile for an instant in some stinky shoes....

i have said this before, i do not envy the man...this will follow him forever, and it does not matter what the actual truth is.

i do not regret fighting the Concept, the Idea, The Zeitgeist of entitlement and Gentrification.

i do regret the pain this has caused our citizens, and others, personally.

many lessons are to be learned yet from this whole brouhahaha...

the BRCCP does not delight in the tasting of the tears of our foes.

schadenfreude is for meanies.

also, forgive, but do not forget....

and may this be a fair warning to those who might try to leverage our fair city for personal financial gain or bring the shit stain of defaultia across the playa because they were clueless to the fact that they stepped in it.

either way, don't do it.

Personally I would like to see Air BnB and Fest300 completely disappear the event from their websites. That would be compatible with the BMORG intellectual property policy. Likewise no Segway deliveries to the event should be on any website. What else?

The AirBnB thing was surprising so I did a search on their site and can't find any listings for Burning Man accommodations. I did find two in Gerlach, but nothing for BM event.

One thing that the BRCCP can take some limited credit in is trying to keep the door open for the perspective of regular Burners (what we saw, what we felt, what we knew), apparently a majority, while those with that view were being dismissed and marginalized and projected as a sour disgruntled unfounded minority. Why JT quit has to do with his actions, nothing the BRCCP did. Each of us had our own reaction to the boutique hotels, use of serfs and commercialization of the Burn. And that is what we are responsible for.

Last year AirBnb had a listing from Sk8e Camp for a cubbyhole set up under their plywood skate ramp, in front of their sound system speakers. All the comforts of an innercity highway overpass. I thought that was an excellent use of space and a fitting bookend to what was going on out in the burbs with Popsicle Camp.

Over on FestBOZO we can all see what we will get if we lose what we have.

i was told Sk8Kamp put up a listing for a spot under the ramps ... as a joke.

one of their campers actually ended up staying under the ramps

The concern is that CC, BMORG board member, the creator of Fest300, is now an executive at AirBnB. We don't want a repeat debacle! We expect the party to encourage discretion, anonymity and noblesse oblige, no Crimean villas! No caviar! No advertising spa camps and no gloating over luxury on social media.
