Yay Elliot, a wireless modem and a cheap ebay ipod are my backup for wonky computer days. I guess having a job keeps me on someone's radar as well. Or they might just leave a phone message saying I'm fired if I was stuck on the floor for some reason.

I'm digitizing a lot of music this weekend... from Bert Kaempfert to Triumph, Rogers and Hammerstein to Little Feat. radio transmitting to deep in the closet for work detail there...

Rock on, Yggy. Larry uses tree stumps.

Yeah, those floods look damn scary.

We made it to fire conclave practice, a full light up performance. Going to be the submission for the Great Circle. Fingers crossed!

Yes, absolutely happy birthday Lucky 420!

Today I drink iced tea as the building A/C is down. I'm getting complaints from a few employees that it's "too hot"......hmph. They wouldn't last 20 seconds on playa. It's 80 degrees today, but scheduled to be 95 tomorrow.

Aww, Happy Birthday to Lucky & Adam. :D

Saw the documentary Spark: a Burning Man Story last night with two fellow Burners. Agreed; worth seeing. I liked the emphasis on history and infrastructure rather than an overemphasis on the sensational. And the footage from 1996. Wow. :o

. . . This is a crazy day at work.

Out of coffee.

*sigh*

Happy bday Lucky & Adam!

I agree with you and your friends, Sav, I really enjoyed it as well.

Crazy doesn't begin to cover it for me, too. A couple things that bubbled up and demanded some a bunch of time, plus a big keynote day and many different things going on connected with that. Fortunately all that stuff seemed to be pretty well-received, though it's made the day even more hectic. I'm only just now getting to some of the stuff I meant to do before lunch, and had to cancel out on some time I had booked for the laser cutter this evening.

We are getting some good rain in Reno right now with advisories for local flooding. Looking at the radar it may move up and onto the playa...and then again it may not.

When I called in sick this morning, I somehow didn't navigate the phone system right. Got a call from my boss at about 3, worried about me.

Good morning all! :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Egad on that road is right, Yggy!!! Hope they can fix that reasonably well and reasonably soon.

Got a 5 am text from Moon this morning, he's in the rehab place and getting the right antibiotics IV now, complaining about the food though and hoping some kind Burner-folk in Reno will drop by with a salad. So I guess he is getting better!!!

My brother got real sick over the weekend and was in the ICU at NIH briefly but yesterday when I saw him he was looking better. So, I feel better now too!

Okay more :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Hi MDF!
dang, well glad to hear your brother is feeing better. Is NIH a specialized hospital, or, just the one for his area?
Good news on Moon!! yay!! and the enticement to get better, is the food, get out, get good food!!

Hope you're feeling better Fishy. Have you had your tank cleaned?

I was thinking/wondering, with that possible flooding on the playa, if it might settle the surface some. seems standing water is always good for that, but even just getting good and wet, this late, has got to help?

Maybe GH can chime in, if he can get out there or back........

Good morning - yeah, heard about the rain…welcome to Gerlach Falls! Standing water on the playa would be kinda helpful, Yggy. It'd be a mess for the ppl heading up for juplaya at this stage I think, but could help make a nice bit of crusty surface for when we all get out there. Let's hope!

Off I go, lots to plan and paint and coat today!

yeah, be interesting to hear if it rained enough to make standing water out there.

so:
I'm not sure where to post. that in very early July, I'll be driving to Durango, Co with and empty 3/4 ton truck. and that if anyone needs anything taken thereabouts, or a ride, to let me know.
