I'm missing something here. Pictures of graidawg and VC, or pictures of the triple that Patsch is fixing? I know both are good things.

YAY for msj.

And, in msj's case, pictures are a MUST. Big congrats! Bringing a new little one into the world is always a cause for joy and celebration.

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

I have to walk away from one of my Navy moms groups, they're posting all sorts of "patriotic" stuff. Am I a grumpy pants for wanting to tell them it it Veterans' Day, not Memorial Day?

And I think my VA rating letter is in the recycle bin. Crap. Good thing I did not set it out on the curb.

No, you are not a grumpy pants. You just like facts. ;-)
I get irritated when people thank me for my service on Memorial Day. I stop short of checking my own pulse in front of them (chiefly because they probably won't get it) and say thank you. They mean well even if they are inaccurate.

Heavily overcast and snowing lightly outside. I've just finished a bowl of Cream Of Wheat, got a fresh pot of tea (PG Tips) and am sitting on iTunes radio at the moment, having sampled some new offerings from Foo Fighters, and TV On The Radio, whom I have heard of but never bothered to check out. Shame too because this new album coming out next week - at least the stuff I've heard on First Play, is quite appealing. I'd love to hear Tunde and Peter Gabriel collaborate. I think their voices are quite compatible.
Cats are dozing. Dogs, thankfully, are too... never got to have kids but two mini Dacshunds give me a really good idea of what life with humans who are permanently in their Terrible Twos would be like.
Another day of dragging ass on swapping out the kitchen sink. Made some baby steps yesterday. I could never be a plumber for a living; not that I can't handle the technical aspects of it but I have zero patience for the stubbornness of the entire process, removing crusty old shit that won't budge, reassembling new stuff 2 and 3 times - exactly the same way each time - until it finally decides to stop leaking.

Damn. 10º and snowing outside. In my detached garage/workshop - without the heaters on or anything - 44º.

That's some good insulation.

I've been down in the border country today, near Arkansas and a town in Missouri called Van Buren. Interesting area. The fall colors are about gone, BUT I got to sample some of the local hillbilly cuisine.

I tried something new at a (gasp! truck stop café. Get this: a cream cheese-filled hot pretzel lightly dusted with cinnamon sugar.

It was AMAZING, tasting that good.

My poor drillers have been struggling with the hole they've been on for nearly a week. Finally finished it today. The rock is rubbly and clogs the core barrel. We have to trip the hole multuiple times just to get a five-foot run With crappy dolomite like this, frustration looms large.

Somehow, I think this is going to make it into circulation as a catch phrase for damn near any situation.

Two dressed-to-kill guys walk into the city's (allegedly) hippest bar; after surveying the 'offerings' for a minute, one turns to the other and says...

"Jake, with crappy dolomite like this, frustration looms large."
