Re: The person below me
I'm resisting the temptation to use the google and cheat, and I'm going with a guess: Pangolin? I know it's another mammal that lays eggs and has other characteristics that make it hard to categorize (e.g. scales). It's also the subject of important taboos and rituals.
TPBM, what's the next taboo in our culture? (And which "our" do you have in mind?)
EDIT: Of course, I was wrong. And pangolins don't even lay eggs. Pffft.

Yes. It's in the Northwest Territories, north of Alberta. It's one of the great Canadian place-names. Not as great as Medicine Hat, perhaps, but still great.

Floating down a river, not so much. The river here is not exactly what you would call "potable water." Swimming in the lake, perhaps.

Let see. Pacific Ocean, and the north sea... Not impressive. However if you are in the Bay Area during August, I suggest getting on one of the Oceanic Society's trips to the Farallons. When I went, more than ten years ago there were humpback whales close to the boat and a blue whale a ways away. Dolphins and porpoises, seals and sea lions, a leatherback sea turtle, murres, puffins, and I dont' know what all else. It's spectacular to be living within visual distance of so much wild.

Gonzo's a cook, so I have to drag him to some places - it means eating someone else's cooking. We did have an excellent experience at a out of town mex restaurant for my b-day. The owner greeted us at the door and took our order. He was a delight! Every year I go to someplace I've never been before, sometimes this comes up as a future haunt, othertimes, not so much.
