Very different circumstances....your loss cut you to the core. Moving out was simply finishing something that started years before.

Of course! Also, Innsbruck for cowbells and then I'm really tempted by the Swarovski Chrystal Factory Gardins, because they seem like the weird underbelly of the german collective unconscious--and who can pass that up. There's a bell foundry museum tour and a gratuitous extra folk art museum. Then onto prague. Or something like that.

When I was doing glassblowing we had a couple of guys come in from Murano. They were awesome. First thing in the morning they would drop a gather of glass onto the marvering table and put their espresso pot right on top of it. I still have a horse they made, though it's missing part of a leg that was broken off when my boss dropped it.

OK, time for beer.

The timing is governed by my nephew's graduatio from Cambridge next year. So springish--I'm hoping May (for Venice the earlier in the year the better) but it may be June.

Thank you! Maybe I'm being oversensitive, but I do feel that snarking at a responce to his question is a little rude.

Go for it Pinemom. It'll only get me drunk if I drink it all. So it might as well be drunk.
