Good Morning Dear All !

Lucky, surely you will be a delicious Gingerbread house.

My daughter, V. arrived safely and we are all "tiptoeing" around her
And of course the now epic memory of last night's dinner was when my first daughter ,
who always makes great salads served V. and there was a worm in the greens.
She, precariously pregnant, was loudly sick . Not funny then; but recounted in the future it will be.

Whoops, V. is up and Mom is on duty.

Have a fun day.

Hi gang!
dang worms........well, where's the early bird?

Hi Marty!!!

I'm off to Oakland for a meeting today, debrief from the burn for our dept.
I'm hoping to get it over and out of there, before the seemingly nightly shennanigans/protests begin.
wish me luck!

*shuffles in*

well, good meeting.
but I think we got out just in time..........there was a traffic slowdown, a bunch of cops on the freeway......and as we passed, the rest of the way out of town, there was pretty much a cop car or more on each street leading to the freeway and or right of way.

Morning, da bar! Waking up at the River Haven ranch in Oxford, Arkansas. There are cattle and tractors outside that I can see from my window.
I woke up yesterday at the beautiful Maynard studio compound in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. I am blessed with friends who have graciously tolerated a pm message and a call from the road as my half assed advance notice of arrival. I wonder if I would be so accepting and so I will try to do better.
I'm cursed at the moment with a cold that has taken my voice. Imagine being with good friends and the talking that needs to occur! I want to hear their stories and will try to convey that.
Many thanks to My Dear Friend, DC, and Maryland was a big warm hug and a mind stimulator, both of which I needed. I am sorry I missed some family and friends on the East Coast.

Hi gang!!
well ASD, if you're talking about the meeting being positive, yes.

yay Elorrum!! dang sorry you're sick but wow, what fun!!
can you get any pseudoephedrine? it works pretty good, just generic.

wow AntiM! that's pretty warm for this time of year, yeah? it's warming here, between rains. They say a real "storm" might be coming in the next week or so.

dang it, I'm back at the part of being a land lord I dislike: finding new tenants.
but, gotta fill vacancies, too, so...........

I just hate the "game"........trying to decide if they are lying about being perfect human beings, talking to several, all who's hopes are to find an affordable place, and having to disappoint those to whom I have to say no .......Having to judge, and hoping to be right.
damn it.

Similar here in Nevada. Although a few inches of snow fell in the Washoe Valley and along the new I 580 freeway south of Reno this past Tuesday night.
Theres a weeping willow tree on Clear Acre Dr just south of McCarran Blvd that still wearing it's fall foliage.

Hooray for return trips and safe travels and successful meetings and whatnot. Today's been a pretty good one, though not as productive as I'd hoped. After running some errands I got back home and kicked back with a sandwich, expecting to just take a short break before diving into the next chapter of this big software training thing I'm going through. But next thing you know I had a kitten on my lap. Not unusual, but as I was giving her a few minutes of pets our other cat sidled up and sat down next to me on the couch. That's very highly unusual - she was a feral rescue we adopted 6 years ago, and she's extremely skittish. After we moved to our current place she stayed upstairs in the bedroom with the sole exceptions being to come downstairs for food or the litter box. Over the last month or two she's turned a corner and been coming downstairs more. So I wound up stuck in a "meeting" that ran all afternoon (and by meeting I mean hanging out petting cats and watching an old Planet Of The Apes movie).

Getting ready for things to get wet around here mid-week, we sure could use the water but unfortunately it's so close on the heels of another decent storm that the ground's all saturated and they're worried about flooding and mudslides.

Boy do I know this routine.
Feral capture/rescue, 2002. She's only started doing this - resting comfortably by or on me - in the past two years. (pic taken about 10 minutes ago).
