I met with the nutritionist today. I am ready to make the changes, although I already follow a pretty healthy diet. Talked about the usual suspects, too many carbs, portion sizes, and so on and on. More activity, more consistency, and 1500 calories a day. Low fat, low sodium calories and cut back on the sugar. Sigh.

So I think drinking here is going to be quite helpful. No calories and very good company.

Antim, have you checked your blood chemistry?
Crucial for a serious diet change.

They were able to tell me areas of highest risk and just as important, low risk.

Just worth mentioning.

I try to stay as strict as I can to my vegetarian diet. Not always possible with the meat eating boyfriend.. Wish I could get him to life Tofu-HHmmPh.

I won't torture my camp this year either...

I DID get a bike pump today from my boss, she rocks. Woot. Testing my new beach cruiser this month, getting it decorated and more egonomic and comfy!

You can do it antiM.. it's worth how you'll feel.

Good luck with the diet AntiM. They are a pain but well worth it. Also remember not to beat yourself up if you have something you are not supposed to here and there. We as women tend to do that way too often. "I had a cookie I am an horrible evil person" which puts us into more of a funk which makes us treat our bodies worse and it becomes a neverending cycle of DOOM!
Thanks PM we will have huge hugs in a little over six months!!!

:D

I want you to know that this is not just any old blanket. In fact, it is the Never Ending Blanket (or NEB), which has been warming patrons of the eplaya bar for 4 years or more. There is always room for one more person beneath its capacitious folds and there has never been a reason to have more than one.
[Peeks out from a fold in the blanket -- nobody knew he was there.]

I like!

[Disappears in blanket again.]

I'll feel better after my second cup. There's something motivating about a good activity outfit. This get up ain't gonna spend the day on the couch watching t.v. There's mayhem out there and it needs all hands on board.

Wanders in awakend by the commotion surrounding Elorrum's zingy outfit. Grabs a cuppa and sidles over to the bench wondering what the devil an ROS could possibly be. But hey, man, I really need one!

Anti M, I started a diet in November and lost about 12 pounds in about 6 weeks and have stabilized Go off the diet with a cookie and other treats, but have stabilized and hold my own. Weigh myself every day and take appropriate action if I've gone up a bit Really not too bad and I am a hell of a lot faster on the tennis court not carrying around the extra 12 pounds. Just got new pants 2 sizes smaller around the waist and that really made me feel good. Also wife tells me that I no longer snore!

Cheers, all ... Have a great weekend!

I am looking into the Caveman Diet. It starts with the observation that for 100,000 years or so, we have lived without refined sugar, and limited grains and oils. The typical diet of a caveman would rotate around those thing which were easiest to catch, and might focus on raw fruits and vegetables and small animals, roasted or grilled.

I might also add, that, you'd mostly only eat one thing for a day or more........ie:

if you killed a water buffalo, you'd be eating just meat for days (I'd imagine it'd be rare to kill a water buffalo in the middle of a field of broccoli........then, you'd stumble upon a plumb tree...........then, perhaps, a field of asparagus.............(no, I don't think they ate artichokes).

and, you'd fast, a lot...........then gorge.........

I'd also think much of what you eat will be raw................

but, that's just my take on it.

Hey Vic, you will have a ton of buddies at BRC. You are entering one big family now and know that, as YGMIR says, we do care and all look forward to giving you a big collective dusty hug.

Feel free to contact us on PM as well to answer questions and extend a hand. We're the commmunity to share your excitement with. Most who have never experienced the Burn will have no idea what you're talking about. We're kindred spirits, so give us a great broad smile!

For sure, love the design-to-actuality process. First it's on a sketchpad (and then some time later), you're wearing/holding/gifting it :D Snap, it's time to sign off and start reading the "ZZZ" manual. Thanks for the quick mornin' chat Y :) have a good Sunday everyone

Morning, YGMIR. We're supposed to get rain here as well, but so far, it is clear. One of those days where you do everything to get yourself ready to play tennis and everybody shows up and just as you are about to start serving, it begins to rain and its on to plan B. Knew it was going to happen, but there is always the chance that the weather report is wrong and you'll miss a bit of court time.

That fire and NEB are very inviting. Hope Vic makes it over to swap Burner lies. Hey, you guys can come by and make some pottery with me this afternoon. Just got some new glazes to try out. So, after the coffee, I gotta run

Have a great one, everybody
