My brother told me this story. He said it originates in the Amazon.

A researcher studying the lives of some natives in the Amazon jungle, in a conversation asked the village chief how many hours the vilagers had to work each day. After getting through the language barier and explaining what the word work meant, the Chief said he would think about it. A couple of days later the researcher asked the chief if he had a answer yet. The Chief said that he did have the answer and it was "2 hours." The resaercher said that that could not be right because the villigers were always busy. The Chief said "2 hours only we work. The rest of the time we make things."
