Good Morning Bar!!

Am I the only one who can't sleep? Woke up an hour before the alarm, shuffled around the piles, cleaned the kitchen, and feel like heading out to NV Right NOW. But, alas... two more days of work to go.

Here's to all going very well for everyone still prepping, and to all of us having a safe and fun travel to the Playa!

See you SOON!! Happy Monday!!

I found something NEW i have never tried, so clearly i bought that, then i thought what if?...... so now my bag is being repacked again for a few little treasures i have just decided might be fun.

Loading the roof of the SUV with wind screens, and 24 10 foot pcs of PVC pipe for our shade structure. Cooking a big roasted pepper goulash tonight and BBQed chicken for Playa feasting tonight and tomorrow. Finish loading stuff on Wednesday and a final "OMG what have we forgotten" dinner with a three lovely Burgin camp mates on Wednesday night and then off to HOME!!! on Thursday This will not be a particularly productive work week. Who can think about work!!!!!!

Travel safely everyone. Can't wait to see ya all in the dust.

No, no slowing from my end.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Oh, soon it will be so quiet here, just me, Ugly Dougly and the rest of us in Camp Envy. Oh, and the spammers who always seem to know when Trilo's away. Have fun, y'all!
I'm soooooo lazy.
How lazy are you, Bin Noddin?
I'm so lazy that last sunday I finally opened the bag I packed my shadecloth in. In 2009. My son and I unrolled it and whipped the dust out of it. The boy is not into playa dust. We found that some little critters gnawed a nest into the aluminet and stored nuts and seeds. Guess I'll give it to friends to use in their garden.
That's how lazy I am.

Makes me curious.
When does the slowdown happen? Are most eplaya regulars on early crews? Or does the slowdown tend to be around gate opening?

You're soaking in it. :D The slowdown is already happening, not always because we're gone, but because we're packing all the things!

A lot of ePlayans do volunteer, or lead/participate in camps with EA for large architecture. A noticeable number of people will leave Wednesday or Thursday this week, and a huge number will leave Friday/Saturday, after which it should be pretty quiet (except for new people with last minute questions or ticket sales).

As Savannah said, Its already happening. Some of the regulars have been gone for days already, Yggy, Simon, Knowmad, just to name the first three that come to mind. Then Theme camp early entry is Thursday so a bit of us will leave Wednesday (me included) Then by Sunday there wont be many left.

Gotcha.
We East coasters are pretty Zen right now (most of 'em anyway). Our Space Madness is usually highest two weeks before gate opens, when we (Boston, NYC, Philly, etc) generally load the containers for the cross country trek. The cross-country drivers have mostly left by now.
Tossing a few last minute projects in a carry-on is about all the rest of us need to worry about.

I'll be hitting the dust early Friday. Meeting folks who are getting in early Wednesday to meet the Boston containers.
Can't wait. Probably lurking here more than normal as I fail to concentrate at work.

I've been there and back! Was out on the playa For Early Burn on Saturday, now in Reno seeing others off.
It's that time of year. objects in motion tend to have a higher chance of hitting another objects. I ran into everyone's favorite Chez She and her crew is en route to teh playa. And I've seen a lot of folks at the Generator work space in Sparks. Let the pilgrimage begin!! I'll be over here working on being chill.

Winebuff, you have to check out the full-on Glamper treatment my camper is nearly done getting! It's all your fault.
I can't seem to get good shots inside, and it's still a mess from being worked on - but you can always come over in person, I wanna check out your Airstream too. Mine is now a sea of silvery blue and aqua inside. That plus the air conditioner will make it a great retreat during the too-hot middle of the day. I told Charlie (the First Mate) she's gotta throw a splash of some other color in it somewhere so I don't drown!

I leave in less than 48 hours and I wish I had an extra day at home. This will be my longest stay on the playa (13 days) and considering how tired I was at the end last year (having spent one day less) I'm actually finding something to be nervous about after all this time.

Maybe this will be the year I learn to go to bed at midnight?

Ahahahaha! That's a good one.

While I'm at it, maybe this will also be the year I learn to light myself from within and fly across the Esplanade.

Well, I am still here in Va., but have been packing all the things...I pull out ion 36 hours, 3,000 miles to go. I might even pass Simon along the way. I am getting a bit twitchy here, as I do this drive alone. Did I forget ANYTHING?

My launch is Thursday afternoon/evening, arrival early Saturday. It's both dragging and flying by - how is that possible?!

I quite seriously experienced time distortions yesterday (totally sober; thank you!)

Oddly enough, I did not experience the sensation of time acceleration, despite being monstrously pressed for time. Instead, time seemed to stretch out.

Bizarre--and interesting.

Well I can't make it this year. that's ok though. I haven't been gettin' much exercise and I am certainly not in any shhape to be seen naked on the playa this year. Prolly scare everyone.

But I'm gonna work out and have a real 6 pack for next year though.

OK, that's almost IT!

Loadout complete.

Bills PAID through next month.

Cat boarded.

Shot glasses and t-shirts arrived and in.

12.5 pounds of bacon in the cooler from PREMIUM Missouri sources....small-family farms and Burger's Smokehouse. We do bacon pretty darn good most of the time. Heck, there's even a town called 'Bacon' in Moniteau County. There's a bacon trivia winner for you all. Apple smoked, hickory smoked, prime BACON!

I had a big day at work today, and don't have a lot of energy for prep tonight. This might be a poor decision, to not dig in to tasks tonight. I still have a big day at work tomorrow, then tomorrow night, I can start loading the car. I did some more shopping for groceries, cooked chili, found a nice little moop rake to go with my moop screen on a stick.
