Because it's a big planet, and it was pretty well fucked up long before we came on the scene, so I don't know if America can reasonably be blamed for all the fucked-upedness that is evident in the world today.
That's not to say that America's GOVERNMENT hasn't done some really fucked up things, but I would have to say that on balance the world is better off for America having been born...
