Or does this belong on the DUCK!!!!!!!1 thread?

Well, Jim, it's true that the sport of Duck Feeding has become far more competitive in recent years. it was once a backyard leisure activity, much like croquet.

Yes, Bob, its unparallelled rise has been something or a surprise. I just wonder if it's getting out of hand.

It's certainly true that the number of injuries has risen dramatically.

Sure, just look at Iceland's Sanderson. Taken out by a torn tendon in the qualifying round. And the violence between athletes is somewhat shocking, also. Ever since Tonya Harding joined the American team....

Jim, do they even have ducks in Iceland?

Not for the bulk of the year. But I'm told that Sanderson keeps an exclusive 1500 acre indoor duck reserve to train in, and sometimes uses his basset hounds for a change.

This is getting better and better... name tags... ducks in rehab... S&M Socks in serious sock fights... Wouldn't miss it.

And what of the India Runner scandel of 2 years ago, Jim?

Ah, when the so called "ducK" was proven by genetic testing to be more closely related to the goose family. That almost disqualified the sport from the Olympics this year.

And the viscious fight over the regulations governing loafs. White, wheat, sprouted, organic, and does the heel count? This sport generated more controversy than one would imagine by simply looking at a placid pond.

Ring,

Just like you. The final list gets posted and you pop up right after it hits the Eplaya. I think the "S" word is appropriate here.

I have to hit a office supply store tomorrow to get some more gifts laminated so I will pick up name tags at the same time unless someone already has them. From the posts here I should get the big box.

Can not wait to meet everyone.

I guess I found this thread a little late. Sheri and I plan to be at the meet and greet again this year. I won't swear I will recognize anyone but I think I can remember Dr. Pyro, nipples, playaquest, Lydia, and Das Bus. Anyone else I met last year, don't be upset if I stumble with your handle and call you something else. I won't be upset if you don't remember me at all. Sheri and I don't drink much by we will bring something whether it's booze or snacks.

I guess I found this thread a little late.

I know just what you mean. My husband DogBoy and I haven't really been able to be on eplaya consistently since October. We'll be camped fairly close to Barbie Death Camp so, I expect that we will make a concerted effort to attend.

Hopefully, a few of you remember us.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Dr. Pyro wrote:Okey gang, Doc Pyro here. The Meet 'N' Greet will be held at Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro, which is located in Wheeeee!ville, 4:00 and Venus. The party begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday and lasts until past sundown. We ask that you bring either 1) something to drink; 2) something to eat; or 3) ice. Last year we had probably 100 people show up. The people who are scheduled to attend so far [those who do not live in Wheeeee!ville] are: Papa Bear, Sparkletarte, dj big E, the Cryptofishist, JezebelinHell, Music Vixen, Zona the Stona, YonderMan, Release Me, Selkie, Dardanian, MissNev, Dustdevil, and Rian Jackson. This list will be updated as we approach playa time. If you name is not on the guest list (and it doesn't have to be, it's just kind of cool to see who's thinking about attending), please add it.
