Sir you are putting words in my mouth. I am not railing against agriculture. I simply said that this is the point where the change in how men treat each other began.
I did not say that the raiding was the farmers Fault. I did not even mention raiding, you brought it up. The only one to blame for a theft is the thief. I thought that was so basic and well understood that it did not need to be mentioned. Perhaps I was wrong.
Nor have I made mention of a noble savage. But since you brought it up...
As for them "treating each other like shit long before recorded history"?
PROVE IT!
Where was it written in the time before recorded history that this is so? Writing was not developed until after agriculture.

I did not say hunter/gatherers better represented the Idealsof burning man. The burning man ideals are just that. Ideals. They have not been met yet. (Obviously some people do better than others. Just look at the moop map.) I said the way hunter/gatherers live together compared favorably with the burning man ideals.BBadger wrote: So drop these silly notions that the "noble savages of old" better represented the "ideals" at Burning Man. Yep. We have better communications, faster response, less ability to hide from global eyeballs. And people, being the same as we ever were, are much less apt to commit offenses where everyone can see them.theCryptofishist wrote:Some people believe that we are actually getting better...
