Very warm and overcast here today as well. Last Wednesday had a stent successfully inserted in a coronary artery to repair one that was 95% blocked. All is well and now feeling great once again. Guess that things will get busier once again as the return to the dust gets ever closer. I'll be back in Hushville for the 9th consecutive year and volunteering at the ARTery for the 7th year. Felt so good to be an an ARTery meeting at BM HQ in SF this past Thursday evening and seeing so many good old friends and starting the planning for 2015, Saw a model of the Temple and it is really beautiful. The Carnival will be surrounding the Man in much the same way the Caravansary surrounded the Man last year. Should be great fun!

Good that you are working on that tan, Elliot ... can't start too early. Nice to see you Captain. YG, ponder this, today is PI Day where the first 5 numbers of Pi coincide with the date 3.1415. Interesting article in today's NY Times Op Ed page about Pi Really worth reading. Pi being the ratio between the circumference of a circle and it's diameter, assuming that the circle is flat. But, if the earth is round, is it really possible for any circle to be truly flat, so that the diameter that is measured as a flat plane really has a curvature to it and is therefore longer than the diameter as measured perfectly flat. Hypothesis; that is why Pi is an irregular number. I have little doubt that we will now get a very lengthy and learned dissertation from Rhino in this subject shortly. As for me, I have exhausted my entire body of knowledge in the foregoing.

Beers all around     8)

Cheers

Yea for modern medicine!! I'm so glad you came through unscathed. (Well, maybe a little bit scathed.) Can't wait to snuggle up. BTW Who was that beautiful lady with you at the burnal? Not really your playa wife!? I may just snuggle her too.

Sorry to have missed you at HQ on Thursday, Marty, I was there a bit earlier in the day and yeah... that temple model is spectacular!!!!! Kudos to the temple of flux and iron crew peeps on that project, that's going to really be an epic piece! And hooray for clearing the blockage.

It's been a busy fucking week, but inspiration strikes you when you least expect it... I'm hammering away at a new set, inspired by some of the other non-musical stuff I'm working on. Fingers crossed, we'll see how it turns out soon enough...

So, I have fallen in love with a tea, Lapsang Souchan. Which is smoked. I fear it's packed with carcinogens, but maybe 3 times a week starting at age 50 is not much of a risk. With milk, this has got to cause all sorts of throat cancer in people who drink it straight.

Mornin All!

Slept with the windows open last night for the first time this year
Kinda overcast this morning supposed to be 71 and windy
Gonna drive the dog to cemetery hill and walk up and back. A little over two miles round trip and about a 400ft gain in elevation.
Won't be near the bugs as there is walking along the river but a hell of alot of illegally dump trash. Grass clippings, branches, leaves are
bad enough but fuckin TVs, stoves, microwaves, couches etc. Fuckin irresponsible bastards :x

Morning Bar!

Ooochiwawa my head hurts. Good thing I have sick hours because I really need this day off. Volunteered a shift at a fundraiser at the Morris last night and had such a good time stayed up til the wee hours drinking and conversing. My daughter joined me and we both really had a laughter filled evening...

It was great seeing you ygmir and yes we should do this more often. :coffee:

Good Morning Da Bar!
Internet is hooked up and empty boxes are piling up. I guess I really live here now.

How I will ever be able to express my thanks to Lucky for her gracious help in this endeavor is a question I am asking myself.

Good morning, bar! And happy St. Patrick's Day, too! It's been a busy week, I made good progress on a bunch of different projects ranging from camp planning to art pieces to mucking around in the studio, cooking up a storm, and then general decadence and debauchery (woohoo!). However, while making a slow-cooked guinness corned beef on Sunday, I absent-mindedly grabbed the lid of the dutch oven without using a potholder and burned the hell out of two fingers and a thumb.... d'oh! The dish still turned out tasty, and then last night I grabbed some of the leftovers and made my own corned beef hash.... also yum.

I had hoped to spend the bulk of the day working on projects or making art, but with the burninated fingers/thumb on my right hand it's proving to be a challenge. Today may call for a more minimalist approach.

However you choose to celebrate the day, be careful and have fun!

Morning, kiddies. Good to see you all in here. Happy to know you are now settled, Elorrum. Sorry for the burnt fingers, Trilo. Thought I was the only one that did that sort of thing. Hi Ratty and SOP. YG, you always start off the day with a smile

Now back to whatever it is that I do

Hey gang!

Glad to hear the stent work went well Marty! Good ol' modern medicine!

And yay for apartments and new employment too!

Well, the weather has finally warmed up here this week, and with it, memories of highways reaching out to desert air.

Apparently there is a good possibility of seeing the aurora borealis this evening if you live in northern regions. One article mentioned a remote possibilty even in mid-latitudes.

I must confess.....mine were store bought seasoned and marinated at a packing plant in Mira Loma, Ca.
Not as good as ones from a good Mexican restaurant or home made, but good. The tortillas were from a tortilla manufacturer in nearby Sparks. Supporting a local business.
Are you from Arizona? I have an aunt in Phoenix that calls burritos, burros.

Oh shit Ygmir, been there done that!!! Last time I had to deal with that was at a buddy's house while he was out of town. The county redid the water system and upped the pressure a lot, and lots of people had problems with bursting pipes.
