So long, and thanks for all the Fire

Post by Eric » Mon Dec 02, 2019 12:08 pm

It looks like my long ride at Burning Man has come to a close, so I've decided it's time for my tenure as a Mod here on our playa-on-the-web to come to a close as well. I've made an unbelievable amount of lifelong friends through ePlaya and Burning Man, and though there will be changes in where I see those people, there won't be changes in the friendships.

This is an amazing community, and I've been happy to be a part of it all these years as an active participant & then as a Mod. I'll still be around occasionally, but mostly as a lurker since I'm out of the loop on whats happening in the dust.

Happy trails to all, and please, in the words of the Eternal Theme, Burn Things and Blow Stuff Up for me!

Happy trails wherever they may lead you.

It was an honor to share some of this journey with you, from the hilarity of the original Piss Clear, to The Weekly, some crazy mashups at Fandango ...

... fuck we are old.

Stay dusty.

Well crap....not what I want to hear. I have been looking forward to running into you at the burn again. At least, see you in SF for some tunes. You are one of my favorite eplaya peeps, will miss seeing your posts. I will miss you.

Thank you Eric, both for all of the effort behind the scenes here, as well as your many clever, entertaining, and spot-on posts along the way.

I wish you all the best, and much joy in your many grand journeys to come!

Please stop by and say hello from time to time. You'll be missed!

Eric you’ve been one of the few I saw eye to eye with on here about almost everything. You’ll be missed, but I’m in the same position as you, pretty much moved on.
Except I won’t be missed much!

Eric, you were an exceptional mod all these years, bringing great wisdom, humor and insight to the forum. It was great meeting you at M+G years ago and I hope our roads cross again!

Dearest Eric:
You, are a wonderful human. IRL, here, and TTITD. You've always been willing to listen, offer help or helpful criticism, and at times, spank us all! You've often given me alternate points to consider, and you've been one of the few, who have led me to modify some of the stances I've had.
To you, I wish all the best, and a grand adventure for these next steps down the path.
With Love and Respect.

Love you so much, Eric, and have missed you and your lovely big laugh quite bit of recent. There are so many times over the years when I've wanted to say something on this board, but you just said it so much better that I just tipped my hat and didn't say a thing. :) I'm glad I know where to find you elsewhere. You give me a great excuse to visit your 'Burg sometime soon.

I'm sorry to see you go Eric. You have been the Face of ePlaya for a long time and done a very good job of keeping the crazies in line.

I hope you do well in the next chapter.

Truly a loss for those of us you have imparted great wisdom to over the years. You have been the articulate and firm voice of experience and you have always known when to step in & be “The Mod” and when not to. Very few have contributed as much as you have.

We are all just dust blowing on the Playa and someday each of us will ride a breeze past the trash fence and beyond.

May the future bring you great enjoyment.
