Didn't you hear, they cancelled it this year!
“They” may have sought to cancel it.
“We” decided to cancel the cancellation. At least in small part.

(In fairness, I supported the cancellation of BM2020, and I still do. IMHO, bringing 80k people together and trying to get them to socially distance would have been a recipe for disaster. 3k people, outdoors, spread out and mindful, seems to have worked pretty well).

I wouldn’t worry about. Like I said you’ll get there.

If you ever want to pull a joke on the captain.
Tell him the man burned early........... ............<<dramatic pause.

Shit oh wait!!! Don’t do that. Everybody at burning man says that.

It only works if you really burn the man early.

Man it really didn’t work out for the guy that helped me out with that joke.

**Makes eye contact with the reader.**
To soon?
Watch Captains reaction. at the time it was a silent gasp.

Priceless
Early man is the first time captain and I met. Early man had burned. I was packed heading home out on the outer ring. I recognize the Playa Cruser so I stopped.
Captain and a cheer leading sensei convinced me not to leave.
At least not yet. Telling him I was leaving and that the man had already burned. He looked me in the eye~ and with a snarky tone **bullshit** every one says that. Yep the only time that joke ever work
...When we came back from our ride. I gave him some rum and Champagne for the first mate.

Thanks captain.

I knew I didn't have a snow balls chance in hell, when it came to attending the main event. I knew this shortly after I started to investigate the ticket requirements. While I hoped I could slam dunk a mutant vehicle. I would still have to transport it coast to coast, and pray it passed inspection. Honestly I just like this forum, and if one day I meet the people on the other side. That would be great.

Don’t get discouraged. Thousands have made the same journey you are on.
It is what you make of it. But remember it’s just a camping trip in the desert. If you ever find yourself in California/Sacramento area.... drop me a note we can hangout.

So...

1). Juplaya tickets are free.
2). Capt Goddammit just happens to sit on the BRC Mutant Vehicle committee and he can tell you what makes (or breaks) a mutie, the selection criteria, rules, etc.
3). There is a cold PBR with your name on it in FOOW CAMP should you decide to claim it.

The excuses for not going are dropping like flies!

Bbuilding a mutant vehicle as a first year project is likely a bad idea. (For that matter, building a mutant vehicle is likely a bad idea anytime. Just ask any builder. Lol).

Just get there and soak it all up. Be a participating tourist. Say “yes” to anything/everything that looks (mostly) non-fatal. You’ll do fine!

Laughs I wish I could tell why that’s so funny. But we would need a b...... room to hangout in.
It’s got nothing to do with you being clueless. It’s knowing the * history * knowledge * context * of the board to understand some of the conversations going on. I can tell you that there are conversations going on right in front of your face that has nothing to do with you. Because the people know those three things. I have a few years head start on you ....don’t worry about.

‘The Fuck!

Y’all gonna give each other hand-jobs next?

You’re supposed to be grumpy old FKOs! Not some rainbow circle-jerk!

Y’all old FKOs are losing it!

SMH.

Nothing personal here M7, but enough with the excuses and fluff, piss or get of the pot and just fucking go! Otherwise it’s “Fuck him/her/it”. No more dick-swagger till then!

And when you get there your 5th year ... then and only then will you no longer be clueless.

It’s just the way it is.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING! you’ve done in the world will come even close to 9 days on the Playa. NOTHING!

So get out there and enough with the excuses.

BTW, it’s totally OK to say: “Fuck! Did I ever not read the fucking room! My bad”!

You don’t gotta sugar coat it or qualify it. We know.

I like Mozy’s answer best. And then while I was posting this, Token came in and used the nuclear option to good effect. So its a tie now.

Second to all of that, I’m just your normal, random, snarky, standard-issue, playa-dusted, multi-year, mutant asshole.

So howzabout you let me babysit your teenage daughter?

Pay attention 7.
Because if you ever do make it to that thing in the desert.
I guarantee you within 10 minutes of you getting out of your car after you get there... somebody is going to insult you.

Mozy speaks the truth. Burningman is a rolling challenge of the mind. Its a *glorious* distillery of ones fears.

Example: At some point a gay, buck-naked Jewish dude will run by with a henna swastika tattoo and an eagle feather protruding from his ass.

Thats when the real test begins.

If you recoil in horror or revulsion, you have failed. But if your first reaction is a fit of laughter followed by a vague concern there might be a whole live bird jammed up in there, then you're gonna do just fine.

these days however, due to the current political situation of REAL NAZIS in america, that type of behavior or posting is simply an old trumpy douchebag trolling for a response.

See I told you.

Snark is a effect tool.
Like Simon, I believe it’s important in life to let people know what you stand for... but also what you don’t stand for.
Yes it could have been a dusty burner with a hello kitty tattoo.
The point is be prepared because your sensibilities will receive an assault as soon as you get there.

I’m sorry Simon.
The part of a feather and bird and that guys ass.... lol reminded me of a couple walking down the street naked past our camp with horse tail butt plug’s. She had a nice Canter.... but he seemed to be having a painful walk.
I crack up every time I think about it.

If you are going to take requests:

1). New President
2). Covid vaccine
3). Blue Bell vanilla bean ice cream.

That’ll do for starters.

But you are here. And Ygmir. And the Capt, Mozy, Unjon, Jackass, Simon, Elliot.. etc.... so the “culture of snark” might survive.
