Re: Is it over?
It’s done. The org pissed the BLM off too many times.
Marion and the rest mis managed funds enough to ensure it’s done.
And that’s ok. Me n Captain went this last week and it was 1991 all over again. No 700,000 watt sound camps, no 7 figure art car monstrosities, no plug n plays.
It. Was. Awesome.

I like this idea! Small camps with no dues, just friends, spread out just enough, with blinky lights, music, fire, freeform MVs, and art, along the perimeter of the exclusion zone to torment the suckers inside the trash fence.
The filter is you have to come prepared to be 100% self-sufficient. No outside services, no portos.
It might even attract some GPE to hang out!
Certainly it is not going to be the problem inside the fence that BLM, Pershing, and the letter agencies have.

PB is gargling the Koolaid.

Re: Is it over?
Pretty much. But we know how that worked out in Jones Town.
It amazes me how many people don't bother with an even cursory gather of facts or think for themselves, and instead choose to believe what someone says, just because they said it. And on top of that, even when that person has a blatantly obvious agenda (often one of simply making money off of the viewers/traffic they create) that should alert them along the lines of "maybe I should check this". And then they'll make decisions, even life decisions, based on what that person said. And in and around Covid-19, bad decisions based on those lies they failed to check, are costing some people their lives. If it was just their lives, I guess we could say "natural selection". But when they catch it, they're more likely than not to pass it on, extending or creating a chain, down which some people will die.

News is they're considering a T 90 day with double extensions. No word if on-arrival or pre, etc..

What a fucking bunch of scam artists.
I’m glad it’s over and can now revert to renegade and regionals while the Glitterati have to get real jobs.

Edited to add the post script.
So they went from $2M per month, cut 51% of the budget, and ended up at $3M per month?!
We need to raise $12 million to get us through the first quarter of 2021.

So, who thinks Burning Man will never recover? I think the ship is taking on water and going down.

It's over for BMORG, but Burning Man will continue without it, and probably be better.

Well you know I’ve been bitching for years about how modern Burning Man sucks.
Hell I wouldn’t have missed the chance to go with the whole thing bombed back to the Stone Age!
I got everything I always wanted. Zero services or pay camps. No gate or fence. Only very self-reliant and prepared people. Plus, all the FB burner groups are so pissed off at us infidels who disrespected the org’s directions to stay off the playa that it’s full burner civil war.
And that’s funny.

Re: Is it over?
There was a guy on FB bitching about BMORG and how they've ruined Burning Man. He said he hadn't been back to the Playa since 2002. Gloating about the current situation he echoed the common opinion that the fact a couple thousand showed up on the Playa this year without the Org's involvement was proof of its uselessness.
So my question is if Burning Man has sucked for the past 18 years why is he still posting in the Burning Man group? Take the hint that it's moved in a different direction and not turning back. If the good old days were so much better, important, and easy to accomplish, get off your ass and create an alternative. Should be a piece of cake, right?
So much easier to bitch than to act.

Re: Is it over?
I find it interesting that a business model based only on the popularity of an event that happens only one time a year. Didn’t have the forethought or insight to prepare for the loss of that popularity or the loss of the ability to hold the event itself. it’s a head in the sand type management.
