Two time Burner here, sending universal love and regenerative and rejuvenating and healing vibes.
You're invited to a virtual Halloween party!
Did you check out the Burning Man Multiverse this year? Many virtual playa experiences have joined the ePlaya forum here on the Internet. And, the Internet is happy to host our virtual playa experiences year-round. One of those experiences is on a brand-new platform being described as an "anti-social network" called Topia. This service launched right around Burn Week, and hosted a free event called "Build-a-Burn" as a demonstration.
Topia offers "2.5 dimensional" spaces that you navigate by clicking or tapping on your computer or mobile device to move around a cute little cartoon avatar that represents you. When your avatar gets close to other people's avatars, their video and audio fade in, and when you walk away, their video and audio fade out. It's a really unique experience online. Up to 10 people can talk to each other in a group at any given time. We can also watch videos on embedded screens, check out live DJs and performers, and do other fun stuff.
"Build-a-Burn 2020" had many camps from 2019 represented, and some new ones. One new camp in particular, The Sock Drawer, is still going strong, and we're having a Halloween party, and you're invited! The event is hosted by burners from Invisible Wildlife and other on-playa camps.
The Sock Drawer was accessible during Burn Week by finding a MOOP sock "portal" out in the deep Build-a-Burn playa, but now you have the convenience of visiting The Sock Drawer directly via the link: https://topia.io/sockdrawer
Join us Halloween night, Saturday October 31st, after dinner, for a virtual festival of live music and art.
