911 radio programming for a MAC

Post by jsgdvm » Mon Aug 19, 2024 4:42 pm

We just bought a Baofeng GT-1 for emergency contact from our camp. I have a MacBook Air. I cannot get CHIRP to recognize the radio, maybe because it is not on their list. The MAC will not allow the Baofeng program to function because it cannot verify the developer.
Can some one help me program the one 911 channel?
Thanks-
Jamie

Verify a couple things.

The GT-1 is a cosmetic variant of the BF-888. Choose BF-888 as your radio.

Really press that cable into the radio, like extra firm and hard. Maybe even need to hold and press while reading or writing the settings. These cheap radios are famous for bad, flimsy connection to the cable.
