Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terrorism Threat
(Sept. 24, 2006) WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush on Tuesday said it is naive and a mistake to think that the war with Iraq has worsened terrorism, disputing a national intelligence assessment by his own administration. He said he was declassifying part of the report.
''Some people have guessed what's in the report and concluded that going into Iraq was a mistake. I strongly disagree,'' Bush said.
He asserted that portions of the classified report that had been leaked were done so for political purposes, referring to the Nov. 7 midterm elections.
Bush announced that he was ordering parts of the report declassified during a White House news conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai."

It DID raise terrorism in Iraq. The Abu Ghraib scandal was used as a *direct* example by Al Qaeda to recruit and their numbers skyrocketed after it came public.
Another interesting development...terrorist groups in Iraq are running out of suicide bombers and nobody's volunteering for them anymore, so they carjack private citizens, beat them up, plant a bomb in their car without their knowledge, then say, "We're going to turn you loose now, but we'll be driving behind you. You are to drive down [such and such] route and if you deviate from that course we'll kill you."
When the victim gets to a certain coordinate, they detonate the bomb in the car by remote control. If indeed the victim does deviate from the course the terrorists lay out for him, the crawling bastards do follow through on their threat and blow the car up.
