Avalon Village Needs Nevada Lawyer For Non-Profit Incorp.

Post by Eshu » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:35 pm

Hello Burners --

Avalon Village is a Burning Man camp that wants to start a non-profit organization so that we can, among other things, raise money tax-free for our art projects.

We want to incorporate the non-profit in the state of Nevada. We're looking for a lawyer based in Nevada (or a lawyer elsewhere who is admitted to the bar in Nevada) to be the "agent" for the incorporation. It would be great if the lawyer could cut us a deal on any fees for what is a simple one-page filing.

If you know of a lawyer who might be able to help us, please let me know by sending an email to greatgiraffe [at] gmail.com .

Thanks!

Eshu aka Anthony

Do what everyone else does -

Go to Google, and find a corporation forming company, and a resident agent service.

Resident agent will cost about 80 bucks a year, plus postage,

and using a corporation service online will take care of everything in about a week, and cost less than a grand to incorporate - way cheaper than an attorney.

drop me a PM if you want the names of the companies we have used in the past
later all

You might get in touch with someone from the Black Rock Arts Foundation (BRAF) and ask who they used to help incorporate them as a 501(c)3 in Nevada.

Why form an LLC in Nevada? Despite all the advertising saying otherwise, they are not business friendly. You'll find out what I mean when it comes time to handle annual reports and they slap you with fees on top of fees. Have you considered incorporating elsewhere like in the state that launched the LLC, Wyoming?

You don't need to incorporate or form an LLC to file for Non-Profit status. Try this http://www.nevada-resident-agents.com/
Filing taxes is not truely voluntary!
