Black Rock City Weather

Post by Bootzy2012 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 9:33 am

Can anyone tell us if the playa surface is nice this year? I know we have had some rain about 3-4 weeks ago. Just curious to how dusty it might be since I heard they have sold 50k tickets and all that arrival traffic kicks up so much extra dust. 50k.....Hard to believe. Sounds like a rumour.

From the Gerlach weather page, the temps have been IDEAL!!! :D

Rain 3~4 weeks ago wouldn't make much of a difference at this point. It;s the winter/spring precipitation which determines the playa consistency.

It's dusty..... It's always dusty.....
We've been getting a little more wind than usual, for this time of year, so plan accordingly......
Yesterday we had 30-40mph gusts, all day..... but it's not too bad today...... I'd expect similar to last year, with an extra white-out thrown in there......
