Re: The person below me
Got that right. Why assault my ears with refuse-filler from the days where you had to buy a whole album?
People lament that so many plays, symphonies, songs, etc. were "lost" to time. However, did they ever consider that maybe -- like now -- that so much of the media churned out in those days was mass-produced garbage? They may have been purposely dumped and forgotten precisely because of that fact. For example, maybe the majority of Sophocles' "lost" plays were nothing more than a playwright's corn-encrusted turd, like the two-bit flicks that fill the dead-space of summer, or the wasteland of feel-good bullshit made for television movies on the Hallmark channel. Who even cares about the thousands of minuets, sonatas and other trendy music of its time? We only kept a few classical pieces from that era because there was no point in saving the others.
The Best Hits were the only ones people bothered to keep.
For good reason.
"A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
But now... now we have the misfortune of never losing music takes or scenes from movies. Some of those should have flushed faster than a prom-night abortion. Now they get cobbled together into the "Director's Ultimate Uncut Omega Final Turbo Collector's edition" of whatever movie is out. George Lucas has mastered this practice.
TPBM also thinks that people replying as TPBM should meet the qualifications set by TPA (A = above), not deny or deflect it to say something else -- or allow someone else to reply instead.

Nope - don't think there should be any qualifications on how people answer - answer long, answer short, have your answer go on a surrealistic trip through your brain. It's free-form thinking, not the SAT.
