Possible Cure for Cancer!

I just heard that scientists think they have found a cure for cancer. No Joke

The story stated that they found when they use white blood cells on test mice (God bless those mice) it eradicated the cancer completely.

It was reported the cure would be ready in three months if all goes right.

I just heard that a cure for AIDS was discovered this weekend which combines a mixture of unicorn shit and the tears of gummy bears.

I actually read a similar story last week too. Seems they took the white blood cells in the guy's body that attacked the cancer the best, forced them to reproduce in a dish, and then injected him with a massive dose of them.

Seems it's moving into early trials, but 3 months?? Not a chance.

You know the weird thing about suing, it seems the only people that sue anyone is a lawyer.

Medical malpractice lawsuits are supposedly through the roof, but have you actually ever met anyone that has ever sued a doctor for malpractice.

I can't. I think the whole sue happy thing is more fiction than fact.

Everything in moderation including moderation.

If one takes the time to learn about how the human body works and the roles of various types of sugars inside the human body they should quickly come to the realization that this thread is bullshit. It belongs in the same realm of utter bullshit such as the drive to ban dihydrogen monoxide and phrenology. It's nothing more than medical hype that takes a basic fact / public ignorance of simple science and spins it in order to promote someone else's bullshit agenda and they're so called way of treating cancer which in reality is just another way to fuck someone or their insurance company out of more money.

In short every single cell in the body requires basic sugar to survive. And cutting sugar out is a tall order...the body has many ways of making or taking what it needs to survive. And with the typical American diet good luck cutting out sugar...take a walk through any grocery store and see how many foods have high fructose corn syrup in them....you'll likely give up in frustration first. So with that being said there's so many ways this whole idea could be attacked and ripped to shreds that it's ridiculous.

The best advice one could give is to go see a dietitian and let them enlighten you. Wanna drop that extra weight? Get off the meds? Cut the high blood pressure? A dietitian can help you do all of those things and so much more.

(I'm wondering if anyone even knows what the food pyramid is anymore or if they remember anything that is taught in most middle school science classes. The basic science of cell biology should have been required material which means calling bullshit on this thread is truly "academic"!)

The watch your sugar intake is a good suggestion. And it seems although each cell uses sugar, it seems logical that each cell does not need to consume the same amount to do its job. So therefore, using my keen sense of speculation, cancer may in fact a big fat sugar whore.

I would love to hear a cure for cancer. Sometimes when I mention that my step-mother has cancer that her body has been fighting for 3 years 2 of those have been no chemo years they ask me "has she tried... has she done... my uncles best friends sister did this and it worked" It drives me a little insane.

I am happy that this is something they found that worked for him but it may not work for everyone. Cancer is tricky just like AIDS and it mutates differntly with each person that has it. So maybe they will finally find the cure but i seriously doubt it.

We all could use some sugar reduction. Contact Congress. Tell them to quit subsidizing corn so we can start pushing High Fructose Corn Syrup off the store shelves. And while everyone's at it we need to move ethanol production away from corn to products like switchgrass. That's another thing to lobby Congress about.

Regardless of the science behind the sugar control / cancer stuff, the benefits of a proper diet are indisputable. And rather than target just one specific thing as a cause, all I will advocate is that people take a holistic approach to their health...be that emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual.

I know...I said I would just do the smile and wave thing but eating right can be very enjoyable....and it's worth speaking up about.

Thanks for being the gentleman Kinetic. When I was in Texas, I found Mexican coke better tasting than US coke because the Mexicans use cane sugar instead of Archer Daniels Midland corn syrup. You're right about switch grass. There was an article in today's paper about how grain to fuel was in part responsible for high food prices. At the Marin County Fair yesterday, I interviewed a Golden Gate Bridge worker who fuels the bridge's small fleet of mini-work trucks with reprocessed restaurant veg oil. The trucks get 81 miles to the gallon and have a very small carbon footprint.
