Federal Mandatory Firearm Registration H.R. 45.
According to http://www.gunownersofamerica.org:
"H.R. 45 (Rush): This bill would require a license for handguns and semiautomatics, including those currently possessed. The applicant must be thumbprinted and sign a certification that, effectively, the firearm will not be kept in a place where it would be available for the defense of the gun owner’s family. The applicant must also make available ALL of his psychiatric records, pass an exam, and pay a fee of up to $25. The license may be renewed after five years and may be revoked. Private sales would be outlawed, and reports to the attorney general of all transactions would be required, even when, as the bill allows, the AG determines that a state licensing system is sufficiently draconian to substitute for the federal license. With virtually no exceptions, ALL firearms transactions (involving semiautos, handguns, long guns, etc.) would be subject to a Brady check. In addition, the bill would make it unlawful in nearly all cases to keep any loaded firearm for self-defense. A variety of “crimes by omissionâ€

the old axioms and, I paraphrase:
"the only thing that stands between freedom and tyranny is an armed populace".....
two rules of government:
1. Don't piss off the peasants, they have the numbers.
2. IF, you're going to piss them off, disarm the first.
sure apply.
yeah, thanks congress......
I bet all the armed criminals will line up to register and turn their guns in.....
and, of course, those who don't, will become criminals.............
and, we'll all be so much safer since, the criminals will turn their guns in, and, that nutty hunter down the street, "Joe six pack" won't be able to hunt.......or defend his home and family.
yeah, take my gun. I'll just sit and wait, while the armed robber and I cut cards to see if he gets my stuff or not, and, maybe, who lives.........
Bunch of pontificating, sacrosanct, megalomaniacal, ass hats.........,
here comes the take over.......yeah, the messiah (BHO) wouldn't do anything to harm our freedom............well, lets see where he stands on this one...........
If he rejects it, he'll have my admiration.........
Not that my opinion matters, I understand, just sayin'.......

Let's hear it for HR 45 rah rah rah !!!
Gun Control
Whether you agree or not, it's an interesting lesson in history.
Something to think about...
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to
1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded
up and exterminated.
------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5
million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a
total of 13 million Jews &others who were unable to defend themselves were
rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20
million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up
and exterminated.
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981,
100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one
million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
-----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th
Century because of gun control: 56 million.

My sister-in-law,,, a jewish lawyer told me that there has always existed a mechanism for states to leave the union. Supposedly, we wouldn't need a constitutional amendment.
GOV would have to use the carrot or the stick. Which do you think it would be?

well, yes, there are mechanisms for "succession"......but, as you say, "carrot and stick"..........
interestingly, they now use the "carrot as stick" method:
withhold huge federal monies for unrelated projects in return for states standing aside and allowing federal interference.........
I'd not see a "use of force" but, an isolation of some sort. Monetary or otherwise........
Some states would be more vulnerable than others to this.
One key, is, that county sheriffs have the ultimate law enforcement powers withing their counties.....even over feds. If they'd dis-allow federal agents from law enforcement, nothing could be done by the feds..........without marshal law and military use......
all, IMHO....of course.....

Was there anyone who really doubted that Obama would be the most anti-gun of all time? Just wait till you see what they do to those that "forget" to register. If you thought what Clinton did to all those poor folks in Waco with no evidence or trial was naughty just watch and see what Obama does.
This is expected to pass as well.

No jobs but they have time for this.

Has anyone else noticed that govtrack has been having more "outages" and having them more often since they started tracking Obamas treason?
Time to hit the gunshows and buy more stuff off the books to bury. The big gun grab is right around the corner.

the site is down right now; but anyway, if your posts are 'calls to action' and people actually call and write to the congress people that have sponsored the bills you don't like (and the congress people that have to vote for them), then the chances are much better that they will not pass. It's much better to voice opposition before they get signed into law. The earlier the better.

yes, funny, how taking our guns will make us safer......
or, will it make "them" safer?...........
"he who ignores history is doomed to re-live it"......I'm sure I paraphrase, but........
How can people be so naive, as to think taking guns from law abiding citizens will make them safer?
I understand, there are differing points of view on this.
and, I suppose, if it could be "GUARANTEED" that ALL guns were "vaporized"
(including military and police), it might make sense.
But, that's not possible.
What they're doing is trying to put out a fire with diesel, instead of gasoline, because it's not as explosive............IMHO.....

we have an ammo manufacturer here locally, and, he was saying that since the stock market dump/election, his business has gone over the top.....people are investing in ammo, instead of commodities.
he gets calls for tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of ammo at a time, all sorts, just as investment......
might be a good idea........

No its not. Like HR 45, it has been introduced in previous sessions of Congress and has died in Committee.

These types of resolutions take up all of about 5 minutes of the day.

Not any more than usual. What I do really tend to notice is the total lack of research anyone does on the history of the various bills they sling out faster than Chicken Little could say the sky is falling.
It takes all of 30 seconds to check the history of proposed legislation and see how many times it has been introduced in the past and what happened to it.

And why would that be? Did you bother to read their "source" for said panic mongering?
This is the same type of bullshit that has been circulating since the Clinton Administration.

Every time a bill is re-introduced the chances of it being passed are renewed. The new seat holders change the dynamic of a current vote, regardless of how many times it has died in the past.

I don't know which is more inaccurate, your comment on the outages or your remark about Obama and treason.
