Burners doing good - Am. Cancer Society's Relay for Life

Post by itssunnyv » Thu Sep 11, 2008 9:58 am

Hey all!

I'm from Dr. Carl's Dept. of Collections (Conveniently located this year at Esplanade and 6:30). We're based out of Los Angeles, and are participating in the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life." This event goes on from 8am, Saturday, 9/27/08 to 8am, Sunday, 9/28/08. This is the second year we're doing this, and we would like to invite any burners from the LA area to join our team, start a new team, or just attend the event and PARTICIPATE in the goings on of the day.

The event is a tad burningman-ish, and was a great way to decompress for us last year while also supporting a great cause. Teams walk around a track for 24 hours, and there are numerous booths (camps) set up that sell items, have information on cancer awareness, hold games, events, etc. All proceeds from the games and items sold go to the American Cancer Society.

Sooo... if you're not busy on Saturday, 9/27/08, I encourage you to come hang out for an hour. We may be setting up our dome for shade. Below is the link to the general website. Our team is registered as the "LA BURNERS." Feel free to send me an email if you'd like more details.

Thanks,

Sunny
