Who Am I ?
Who Am I ?
I am under 45 years old,
I love the outdoors,
I hunt,
I am a Republican reformer,
I have taken on the Republican Party
establishment,
I have many children,
I have a spot on the national ticket as vice
president with less than two years in the
governor's office.
Did you guess?
I am Teddy Roosevelt in 1900

You expect us to feel some sort of nostalgic comfort that the Republican nominee has tagged a feel good, creationist, moose hunting, hick as his co-pilot so that she can fly the planet further into the fucking ditch after he dies in office.
Please don't feel too offended when I suggest you go fuck yourself and your smarmy statistical coincidental bullshit.
You shouldn't be allowed to fucking vote based on such a sophomoric post - you waddling penguin brain asstard.

In the end, Ygmir, it does not matter, for existence is Chaos. We pull meaty gobbets from that Chaos and pretend it is Order.
But it is not.
Some seek to control that Chaos, to guide it and make it 'safe'. And their anger knows no bounds.
Others seek to sink into that Chaos and become one with it's swirling miasma--but they have nowhere to sink, because thay are already a part of it--and their anger knows no bounds.
And others see what they are, and where they are and aim for the choicest cuts--though they know that they are STILL only getting Chaos. And they live in bliss.
Someone will be elected president, and they'll pull their Vice with them. And they'll do things. And we will have to live with it.

Roosevelt became president of the board of New York City Police Commissioners in 1895. Here he fought with the corrupt Tammany Hall Democrats that controlled government and the corrupt police department in NY.
President William McKinley appointed a delighted Roosevelt to the post of Assistant Secretary of the Navy in 1897
Upon the 1898 Declaration of War launching the Spanish-American War, Roosevelt resigned from the Navy Department. With the aid of U.S. Army Colonel Leonard Wood, Roosevelt found volunteers from cowboys from the Western territories to Ivy League friends from New York, forming the First U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment. The newspapers called them the "Rough Riders."
Roosevelt was elected governor of New York in 1898 as a Republican.
Supreme Court appointments
Roosevelt appointed the following Justices to the Supreme Court of the United States:
* Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. – 1902
* William Rufus Day – 1903
* William Henry Moody – 1906
Oliver Holmes would eventually be considered the great justice in history and defined the laws under the consitution. Today he would be considered a ACTIVIST JUDGE!
Teddy had a history of Government involvement long before he was considered to be Vice-Pres.
Today all you have to be is a soccer mom and a mayor of an insignificant small town.
She's the perfect puppet but allot better to look at then GW Bush.
BUT SHE IS NO THEODORE ROOSEVELT!!!!

Sarah Palin: Former Beauty Queen, Future VP? (PHOTOS)
Who is Sarah Palin? Here's a quick rundown of her resumé: she's the former point guard and captain of the Wasilla (Alaska) High School Warriors who went on to become Miss Wasilla 1984 before working as a local news sports reporter who then served as city councilwoman and mayor of the town of about 9,000 before being elected governor of her home state just two years ago. Take a look back at the woman who failed to become Miss Alaska, but, if elected, would be a heartbeat away from becoming President of the United States of America.

okay, so THIS particular Republican isn't subject to all the vitriol? You all love him?
or is he just ok because he's dead?
In this, as in all elections, some of us will be having to deal with someone we didn't vote for being our President. Why does this make you all so mad?
Would you prefer no choice at all?
or is he just ok because he's dead?

The republican party of today is in no way the party of TODAYS Republicans.
What Teddy did, the Republicans of TODAY have dismantled every market regulation that he and others before the Great Communicator came in with the TODAYS
Deregulation!
If Teddy was alive today, He would be a Democrat 100%.
Obama is going to be that Teddy for us!

Interesting that you should say this since you said all politicians smell like shit -- which, admittedly, they do, to one extent or another.lurker wrote: Would you prefer no choice at all?
Everybody wants a choice. A viable choice would be preferable. Not somebody who could reduce the guilt of those who would refuse to vote for a qualified black man because they can then say, "See? I'm not preduced! I voted for a WOMAN, God damn it!"

sensitive, no,
curious, yes.
again,
I love the disagreement, and conversation it engenders.
and,
if the hatred spewed forth is most just for fun, I'm all there, too......
I just can't see getting that angry over it all.....
hence, the question.
are you really that concerned?

Of course they are THAT concerned....just look---
But AIIZ wants a 'pubby like Teddy....
But why is race important? Why do you care about the amount of melanin in someones' skin? Aren't ideas more important? I bet they are, to you. I bet that if a qualified black man was running as a republican, and all the righties liked him, I bet you'd find some reason to withhold your vote from THAT type of qualified black man. I bet you'd be going on about how his ideas and experience makes him less qualified.....but you've no problem imputing racism in those who do as you would do.
And how do I know this? I can count on the fingers of one nostril the number of times prominent black and/or liberal organizations have loudly advocated abandoning the white, Democrat candidate in favor of the black Republican...
And here's the funny thing. Republicans dislike Obama--more than they dislike McCain......so the only worries about people not voting for a qualified black man because of his race that Obama needs to bother about come from his own side of the political spectrum. The righties weren't going to vote for him anyway. Regardless of his color--it's that 'D' after his name, republicans and righties usually go for the one with the 'R'.
Of course, when modern hunters say similar things they get snarled at by PETAphiles and Sierra clubbies....
So, yeah, Ygmir, they're concerned, and sensitive, and angry--because their guy smells just as shitty as everyone else running--- and they don't really mind
And there's repubs who say JFK would be one of them. Does that make it true? Who knows? Who cares? If Teddy was alive today, He would be a Democrat 100%.

Theodore Roosevelt was a conservationist and a hunter. He knew that if you enjoyed going out to kill things for fun, you need somewhere to go out to. And so we have National Parks. Thanks, Teddy!Has anyone said conservationist and trustbuster yet?

I don't like Palin one bit, but I didn't see your post as a ringing endorsement of her, and even if it were, who cares?
Hey, I'm angry all the time about something.
Part of being alive.
And sometimes my steem is just fine.
Often I'm quite cheerful anyway.
And I'm much less polite off the interweb.
I'm writing an angry letter to the paper now about the latest monkeyshines of the prosecutors office here.
I'm calling them unethical criminals, you know, because it's true.
Just making new friends.

JFK a Republican.
There was a time when when there were no official party platforms and reformist came from both parties.
I didn't think that JFK was all that great anyway. The vietnam war was his doing.
Another reason I don't love Teddy is that he was a imperialist and a racist.
I don't love the guy, I just respect him.
