While hunting around for images from this years burn I found this site that has a shot of the man, and you can zoom in on it so close you can read the tags on the heart and even the chin of the man, you can zoom in and see the staples and screws that hold him together. You can pan around like you would on google earth.
I am by no way taking credit for this, but thought it was just to cool to not share.

That gigapan image is great.

Regarding the second picture, it is a double exposure. It appears that there were two pictures taken of that girl. The first picture was taken and for whatever reason, there was a mechanical failure with the camera and the frame only advanced 1/2 way. So half of the first frame appears over the entire second frame.

You used to see this alot with film cameras. I have never seen it before in digital cameras.

It seems that the gigapan camera takes mulitple images to create a high resolution image. She just happen to turn her head. The guy with the cowboy hat to her left also has a double image.
