I love the National Enquirer, the Weekly World News, and all those other fine news publications found at grocery stores. I mean, how else would I ever have known about Bat Boy (Did you know that he was the love child of Joe the Plumber?).

Chowski wrote:Well, BBadger, since you called it the Democrat Mainstream, and not the Democratic Mainstream, we can deduce that you get your information from either Faux News or one of the screeching, squealing radical rightwing fringe radio shows. The party is called the "Democratic" party. So you're either ignorant or steeped in propaganda. Frankly, it does not matter which.
That has got to be the stupidest method for evaluating a person's political leanings I have ever seen. I had to actually look up this nonsense on the net to find out what you were on about.

This is not the 1990s House of Representatives where some Republican assclowns are trying to spite the DemocratIC Party with petty name-change proposals. This is a Burning Man forum where you'd have to suffer hypersensitive paranoia to imagine that someone is pulling these slights at such a subtle level, especially with little (no) evidence of motive.

If anyone is "steeped in propaganda" it's the guy believing that unintentionally dropping an "-ic" from colloquial use of a name is somehow some grievous slight, orchestrated to demean the Democratic Party.
Hillary Clinton won the primary fair and square.
She won more votes -- but with the DNC house edge as revealed by the DNC leaks. It'd be pretty disingenuous to call that "fair and square."
The Democratic Party is a private organization which owes nothing to Bernie Sanders, a registered Socialist.
Sanders is not a "registered socialist" any more than a "card-carrying communist." (Steeped in propaganda much?) As far as party affiliation Sanders was an independent up until this election cycle, even though he received major Democratic Party support during terms of office. For this election cycle, he affiliated with the Democratic party to run in its primary.

What the Democratic Party "owes" its voters, at least to the extent of what they claim to do in their rules, is run a fair primary where the DNC is not actively colluding to favor a particular candidate.

Otherwise, let them drop this thin veneer of having any voter choice in primary candidates and be done with it. Then again, as I said before, elections like these are shows for legitimatizing regimes, no matter how concocted they're revealed to be.
We, the members of the Democratic Party chose Hillary over Bernie because she has more experience and more power.
Power? Sure. She wields a lot of power for sure, but elections are supposed to help normalize "power" among candidates at least beyond what money can do.
the question now is, will YOU be voting for the orange-faced, racist, sexual assaulter Parasite billionaire with no experience or ideas, or will you be voting for Hillary Clinton, the most singularly-qualified person EVER to run for the office of the president?
"Qualified" is such a subjective term. You can be qualified on paper and have no real experience. You can also positions and years under your belt ("experience") but no wisdom. It really comes down to track record. Quite frankly I'm not so impressed with some of Clinton's track record.

Clinton has done some good things for sure, but she also brings with her the kind of wisdom and experience that makes someone push for a regime change in Libya reminiscent of Dubya's Iraq War, only to finger blame at Obama despite her central role. It's almost as if no lessons from the Iraq War were learned about toppling regimes representing no real threat to the US; going to war but not considering the aftermath; and having some naive view that such places will easily turn into stable nations after the dictators have been kicked out.

But even among the most fervent supporters, the argument always comes down to Clinton or The Donald, doesn't it? It's never the merits of Hillary "Consolation Prize" Clinton that are brought up, but what might happen if she doesn't win. I guess compared to the likes of Donald Trump she's almost tolerable? More experienced than nothing? Full of relative qualifications? "Vote for me because the opposition is even worse!"
If what you want to do is bitch about her emails and Benghazzi and cankles and Monica, you are lost to the bullshit bubble of the radical right wing, and I don't really care if you ever pull your head out of Rush Limbaugh's asshole. If you are still licking your pathetic wounds because you really, really wanted Bernie Sanders to give you free college, and you finally got involved in a political season and lost in the primaries, well you've learned a lesson. Politics is hard, and socialists don't win elections in America. Hillary won because she has fought for decades to build a coalition to help her win. And that is why she is going to be our president. And you're going to have to pay for your own damn college. Whaaaaaaaa!
That was quite the all-encompassing, defensive broadside fired at nobody in particular. This reads like a copy-and-pasted list of every standard retort used in defense of Clinton from a Disqus forum irrespective of political leaning.

Where on this thread or forum are any references to Benghazi, cankles, Monica, or whatever right wing talking points? Who here has mentioned anything Limbaugh has rambled about as if they'd even know what they were? Who is whining about student loans here besides maybe some hippies in the ticket begging forum?

Yeah dude, we know whom you bat for. However, you sound like a pot calling the kettle black accusing people of being blinded by their ideology or support for a candidate -- especially when they're not even here.

But Chowski and you may not be so very far apart in the end. Let the election die and revisit this. You may accidently be on the same page.

I, very seriously, doubt that. Cannot imagine the logic path you went down to draw that conclusion.

EDIT: I re-read his post again. Seems to be pretty clear cut he is for Hillary. I am not. We are polar opposites, in that regard.

I would comment on our collective situation, but it would be boring, so I will refrain from stating the obvious.

It will be an interesting 4 years, for sure.

In trying to think of what good came out of this mess,....all I can see, right now, is this may have put the final nail in the coffin that is the political career of Hilliary. One can only hope.

Lucky, we've known each other for a long time and have been friends all that time. The reason (and remember, I'm no Trump guy) I believe he won is that people actually believe he is (and I quote) "..a mysoginist, racist, islamophobic, fear mongering cretin..." and in reality nothing could be further from the truth. I believe Middle America is tired of being called names and having their values denigrated when all they really want is a better life for themselves and their children. Is he my cup of tea? No. But he has supported the rights of the LGBT community (remember, Hillary before running for president said marriage should only be between a man and a woman whereas Trump said he will open all restrooms in all of his properties to the transgender community to use whichever he/she chooses) but that is never reported. We'll survive this but we need to be civil, not use the foulest language imaginable when we disagree, and we all can live to see another day. Isn't that, in the end, what we all strive for?

Good deal. It certainly wasnt meant as a backhand slap. I am just particularly amused (and challenged) by both Badger and Chowski's observations and positions. Neither is a perfect fit of my own views, but I enjoy hearing theirs.
