Playa Rain Dance Experiment

Post by Mister Jellyfish Mister » Mon Mar 02, 2009 1:52 pm

Here in Sparks/Reno we enjoy over 300 sunny days a year, so a rainy day like today is something special to stay home to. Where's my Snuggy brand dork robe?!

My house has a view to the north, and I enjoy watching the storms roll off the Sierra and across the high desert. Right now it's raining on the playa-- and we know it could use more.

If you kindly would, close your eyes and meditate on it for a bit. Imagine sheets of welcome rain puddling up a good three inches as far as you can see. Dance in it. Splash in it. Make a mud man. If there's anything to the power of visualization, we'll melt away all the playa snakes and enjoy the kind of hard-pan we've always loved this year. Just don't try too hard. I don't want to be responsible for "The Great Gerlach Flood of Ought-Nine".

What's that old saying..."When it rains, start dancing!"

whoo hoo !!!

I just drove thru downtown Reno and I must say that Reno needs better drainage systems in thier streets.
Puddles everywhere !!
my roof is leaking so hard at the house I am renting that you can take the wet plaster off of the wall with your bare hands.

This is all good as long as it is raining like this on playa, hopefully it will do this again in mid July ?

You already had Sammy Davis Jr as a tag line...There's a oneeyed jew for ya. I though karma was an Italian thing.. thats where the bumper sticker comes from..."my karma just ran over your dogma"

see you read that and think.. "wow, thats the dog's karma" when really it was just.. "shit happens"
