Hippie Love Club

Post by Monkeypoo » Mon Apr 27, 2009 12:45 am

We're not going anywhere.
We're here. We're happy. We're free.
You love us. Everyone loves us. We love us.
You love the music.
You love the dance.
You love the patchouli.
Hug. Be happy. Yin Yang.
Kama Sutra. Om. Get naked.
Come out of your closet.
Make Love, Not War.
Peace out. Peace in.
All ya need is love.

I know, huh??!!!
I was burning Nag Champa and listening to Bob Marley
yesterday and my ex-hubby and daughter were tearing
all up and opening windows and pestering me about how
it made their eyes hurt.
I don't get it.
No. They don't get it.
Peace!

Dammit, I hate it when that happens.
It sometimes affects people like that. Damn.
An alternative?
Lavendar oil.
Exotic.
Natural.
Calming.
Peaceful.
Sensual.

Yes I do love Lavendar (SP?)
ANd I got access to a big plant of IT. For a couple years now have been struggling with the idea of putting fresh lavendar in little bottles and bringing to the playa to gift...
see IF the Burners Save ANd DOn't open until they get home its a nice gift IF OPened on PLAya it could be a REAL BIG MOOP PROBLEM.

My friend was gifted a water bottle with Lavendar oil in it last year- when it got low on water she'd fill it UP and the scent Lasted ALL week!
If I were to wish ANYTHING I'd wish I were ME!!

I bought a huge lavendar bush at Lowe's recently. Every morning I go outside, pinch a flower, fall into heaven. Someone at Transformus 2006 gifted me a bottle of lavendar spray. When it got down to half a bottle, I added a bit of water, some more lavendar (sp?), a bit of rose oil, and some patchouli. Awesome. I'm out now. Gotta make more.

I found some cute Barbies for you, Barbie. :P

I will see that you saw my bet, and I will see your raise, and...ummm....is this where I bet more??
I am so lousy at Poker. This is why I never win and I end up losing all my clothes in the first 4 hands.
Dammit. How about some Good Lovin' then? :P

And then I'll raise your raise, and bet you some Sunshine? How's that?

I pass the deal to Mozy now. He grew up in this time period too.
Poor guy is really gonna be an old fart in a few weeks...turnin' 50 and all. Wow.
That means 50 SPANKINGS...from EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US!!!
I feel sorry for his ass. *ouch* :P

I am sooooo bad tonight.

Given the opportunity, I woulda' done Joni Mitchell if we'd been in the same era. But I still wouldn't listen to her music!

He pushed me around in my baby stroller trying to pick up one of my older sisters when he and us lived the projects in Garfield, NJ during the 50's. Just before his hippie days with the Rascals.

It wasn't officially official, but when we celebrate/celebrated Transformus
(the yearly NC burn) in Horseshoe NC, we sometimes called it "Fire On The Mountain"
I loved Transformus. I loved being involved with it, having a theme camp
(Camp Bahama Mamas), being on the LLC BOD for a year, being teamlead of LNT,
starting up the Census, being a Greeter... While I was away from
the west coast, and away from Burning Man, Transformus was my burner home.
Good folks out there. Great friends. Very welcoming. You should go sometime.
It's at Deerfields. They have 2 ponds to swim in. They burn the Bamboozler.
Beautiful trees and land in the Pisqah Forest. I got to finally meet
Ring O'Fire there, and LeChat, Tom LaPorte, Steven Raspa,
and so many others there.

Uncle Frank is a definite love. My 24 year old daughter Sammi loves him.
Funny how some people poo-poo music like that, but some in these newer
generations can appreciate music from when they were born? Sweeeeeet.

I'm playing this one for Mozy and Ygmir.... Don't ask me why. When I
saw the VW bus, I just thought about you both. Have no idea why.
Maybe because you both are hippies? *puts daisies in their hair* :P

Monkeypoo it weird that you have mentioned bands of which I have had personal interactions with.

I know Ron Strykert the guitar player of Men At Work as well. I've known him eversince he join Church Universal and Triumphant (talk about new age religions that use their members for their money) back in the late eighties. He must have done some bad drugs or something since he has exhibited psychosis behavior- one night at a local bar, out of the blue he just starts into me wanting to fight. He's been kick out of most of the bars for his biligerent behavior. Strange, but if you meet him when he's not drunk he's fine and doesn't remember his actions.
From Wiki..
"Strykert now commits himself to the creation of music with unconventional rhythms and textures.[citation needed] In the late 1980's, Strykert became a member of the Church Universal and Triumphant, a Montana religious sect but currently is not living with the Church.

Strykert was arrested by LAPD officers in Hollywood, California just before midnight on Friday February 13, 2009 on suspicion of making criminal threats to former band member Colin Hay"

hey what do you want, he's from the Australia penal colony where they sent all the Irish and English criminally insane- only kidding of course! I'd fuck that psycho Kidman anyday- then leave before she wakes up

Hmmm.
I dunno, AppoZeus
(which sounds like AppleJuice). :P
Do you think it's Coincidence perhaps?
Destiny?
Fate?
Kismet?
Serendipity?
Should I consult my stars or tarot cards???????
I once got a kiss by Billy Idol and touched his arm.
Have you?
If so, OMG, please tell me and give details.
I'm curious as to how you have (or had) interactions with these rockstars.
Sweet.
Lucky you.

Hippie Poem!!!!

Post by Monkeypoo » Wed May 06, 2009 11:04 pm

Little Flower Child
(written February 2003 by Monkeypoo ~~~~ True Stroy!!)

When I was a tiny little girl -- only 8
I wore daisy chains all round my hair
Long legged, frayed, jean bell-bottoms were hip
All my grandma could do was just stare

A lava lamp danced in my bedroom
Behind doors I would sing, "Yeah!! Yeah!! Yeah!!"
My mom turned me on to the Beatles
My dad turned me on to the Dead

It was the decade of the 60's
Some called it the Summer of Love
I remember embracing the music
Watching rainbows and clouds up above

So I went to my mom in the kitchen
With the flowers all up in my hair
And I told her with great conviction
"Oh, wait....do I even dare?"

I mustered up all of my courage
As I sat on the kitchen stool
"Mama, I wanna be a hippie!
And spread Love because I am so cool!"

Well, she didn't take me all that too seriously
For I was a child -- only 8
"Go play with your Barbies now, honey,
Play outside with your bike and your skates."

"But, Mom!" I declared, with a smile on my face
"I love flowers, peace signs, and tye-dies!"
"But you're too young to be a hippie," she said.
So I stomped off to my room and I cried!

"No June Cleaver aprons for me!" I declared!
I was pissed! I was angry! My nostrils were flared!
"I'm packing! I'm leaving! Gonna join a commune!
Off to Haight/Ashbury I go!
I'll dance under the moon!

Hmpfh!"

And so it began -- my days of rebellion
For a child -- only 8 -- with her dolls
I didn't quite know what it meant at the time
When I painted MAKE LOVE on my walls

Mom wasn't amused
And neither was Dad
I scrubbed walls for week
'Cause they said I was bad.

Then Mom softened up
But I did it again
I painted psychedelic flowers
All over her van!

When she saw what I did
She shook her head with a smile
'Cause there was no stoppin'
Her little Flower Child...

So, now I am a Grannypoo
Still an Earth Child, yes indeed,
But instead of playing with Barbies,
Today I smoke my weed!!

:P
