Good karma - kids as adults

Post by Deb Prothero » Sat Aug 22, 2009 7:12 am

Truly I have been blessed.

When I was an abandoned single mother, I was 28 and the boys were 10 and 9 at the beginning of that adventure. All I could think about on a daily basis was how to get food on the table and keep a roof over our heads. The treats were few and far between but there was love and laughter.

Now the boys are men - Robert, 30 and Jason, 29. They have educated themselves and have established excellent careers with good prospects for their future. They have really been quite focussed on establishing family, home and career. I enjoy their company immensely when they share their time with me.

Yesterday, Robert called to say he had a surprise for me and asked what I was doing on Saturday morning. A few minutes later, a spa where one of his old school mates works called me to come in for an appointment today for a manicure and a pedicure! My first, ever.

Isn't that sweet?

Thanks guys, you're sweet.

I am now a painted lady for the first time! I decided on purple to match one of my costumes.

Robert's gift gave me a wonderful experience of pampering which I had not experienced before. A pedicure is like going to heaven for an hour!

Now I'm hoping to hear from others who have had good karma with grown children or others that you have influenced - nieces and nephews maybe.

A little ticklish are ya', OED?

You've let the cat outta the bag now! I wonder if Ugly Dougly's got a rack over at the barbarian camp. We could ambush OED, tie him to the rack and use soft furry objects on his toes!

Put your hands up, OED. You're hijacking my thread.

Tell all these good folks about the good stuff you do with kids and I promise not to touch your feet.

Kids and cats are treated equally when I am behing the wheel of my automobile.

They both feel the same when it's dark outside.
