yeah, i know ... i couldn't watch the video feed without starting to cry ... next year i'll arrive on weds, and stay until tuesday. but leaving was the right decision, i didn't know how exhausted i was until i was in the car ... i was having too much fun to notice when in BRC ... ! hope the camp wasn't too hard to tear down, i felt guilty leaving you with all the work.Ugly Dougly wrote:You know, it's called Burning Man for a reason.
It was bafflingly beautiful. Start stretching so you can kick yourself.

You ended up going? Glad someone talked you into it! If I was within a one state radius, I would have gone, but I'm now on the east coast temporarily and a trip like that would entailed almost three weeks of which I would have made into a two month work trip.littleflower wrote:Ugly Dougly wrote:

How does one even begin to describe what it is to be part of BM? One word does it for me. Unbelievable. There really is no way to describe it without writing a 50 page bio about it. I read somewhere that no matter how it is described you cant understand until you go and I am a true believer of this now. I went in expecting greatness and came out of there being completly blown away by the Intensity, dedication, and love that is expressed by such a small number of people in comparison to this world.
What can I say? I will be going to many more BMs from now on.
I cant wait to hear more about all your experiences.

Simply fan-damn-tastic!
Worked my mighty ass off greening center tent. 8 four hour morning shifts, didn't get burned out this year. I think I've finally found my spot.
Rode double-decker Omnibus for Friday's Artery Art Tour. Some fine work out there.
I was gifted a 5 gal. gas can, FULL!
Many more art cars out and about at night this year. Very preeety light lights. More gentle, kindly feelings from everyone I meet. One of the best years ever.
Aside from usual afternoon wind blowups, weather was gentle. No max heat made tolerable tent living.
Exodus...slow. I left my camp at 5 pm, got to asphalt at 8 pm. 3 hours to bring seven lanes to one. I got home at 3:30 am last night.Woke up at noon. Ahhh, clean sheets and cold water washup...
Just unloaded my car and trailer. One pile stuff I used, second pile stuff I did not use. I will bring less next year, yes I will, don't laugh. I'm counting all my garbage to see how much I actually consumed to make supply better next year.
Waldos, bunnies, naked bikers, pride parades. Battle of the Marching Bands, performers, musicians, artists creating in our presence. DPW, sorry I didn't have enough beer for all of youse piratyes. Lamplighters, Burning Sky, medical, rangers, staff(golfers), the guy who brought us frozen sorbet on Monday afternoon, all youse guys...a big non-creepy hug.

Alice and the naked virgin
I stood there at the Philidelphia Experiment camp naked by firelight at 3:00 am. A virgin to BM. A pretty young woman wearing a long period dress emerged from the surrounding darkness and introduced herself to me as "Alice". We talked for a moment and then she asked me if she could give me a hug. We embraced and she rested her head on my chest. We stood there like that for what seemed like several minutes as her warmth penetrated my very soul. She was warmer than the fire. That was when I realized that I was home. Alice had welcomed me, a virgin, to a place that I can never leave. Too bad she was married.

It was my fist burn and I wanted to see soo much more but really wanted o be with my friends while seeing it. But my friends aren't as enduring as I am in regards to walking to I didn't get to see a whole lot.
Regardless of it all though it was the best experience of my life and I'm never missing a chance to go Home again.

I had an excellent time out there - can't wait to get back. It was nothing short of amazing - everything I could have wanted and more.

Hah - in my camp a bunch of people were smacked with a riding crop - both to get dinner and to get a post-wedding shot. I'm the one who provided the crop.geospyder wrote:Spanking... I still have the perfect outline on my left "cheek" of a riding crop. I don't think I should have dropped my pants for that spanking.Barbie wrote:...missing my spankings this morning...
