For the first time at Burning Man

This was my 9th Burn and for the FIRST time our camp was ripped off. Some underage yahoo passed out in the back of our horse trailer and left in the morning with my zebra coat on and never returned it. Then....some old yahoo down the street came and asked to borrow my tiger to take pictures with and drove off Monday morning and didn't return it. Feel now that we have to keep the horse trailer locked and not loan anybody anything. So if the underage yahoo with my zebra coat, or the overage yahoo with my tiger in his car a reading this....

FUCK YOU!!!!!!

(should i say that you shouldn't take anything to the playa that you aren't planning on losing?)

Losing something and being stolen from is two different things. I go there to get away from that kind of bullshit. Especially if anybody just ASKED if they could have my zebra coat or my big tiger, I would have given it to them, at least the tiger anyway. The coat was a staple of our costume collection. The little asshole just put it on and walked out with it.

That really sucks Karlene. All these stories of theft are really disappointing.

The zebra dork doesn't surprise me as much....but the tiger!! They asked for permission and then didn't bring it back! That's some real nerve. What is really frustrating with both of your incidents is that you were friendly and open both times and people took advantage of that.

We should have thrown the little asshole out of the back of the horse trailer when we found him passed out in there at about 2am, but he was totally unconscious, so we decided to let him just sleep it off in there. I guess I'm just lucky he didn't puke all over the place. The tiger guy was well old enough to have better manners than that. I don't think that the free wheeling life style on the playa includes theft and appropriating other people's property. Other than that, it was my best Burn yet.

sure it sucks, not denying that. But weather lost or stolen, you don't have it anymore. you really cant assume that just because in 9 years nothing has been stolen from you that nothing ever will

One year, nine years, it makes no difference. Two people that we extended our hospitality to just took what they wanted and walked out of camp. I can certainly live without my big tiger or my zebra coat, it's not about the items themselves, it's about some of the nasty things of the default world sneaking into our Burn experience. A woman would understand how it is having her favorite zebra coat fucking STOLEN!!!!! Not just stolen off our couch or something, but the thief entered our horse trailer and took it off a rack and walked off with it. He PICKED it out. Like he was in a store and was shopping. That's after he spent the night in there because we couldn't lock up with him in there and didn't want to just throw him out on the playa to sleep. We should have dumped his ass out there immediately.
