Burning Man on gumball machines?
Went to the liqour store by my house a few months ago, and found the Burning Man image on a toy dispensing gumball machine. The toys it had were blinkie things, and the label in the machine was "Rave Culture." Doesn't sound like something BMORG would approve of...Burning Man was not in any of the text, but a photo image of the man was the main art. They change out the different toys regularly, and yes I buy toys from these machines, so I'm sure its not there anymore. But I'm sure its somewhere else.

Damn, I'm obsessed with those tiny tins with puppies that go inside.TomServo wrote:and yes I buy toys from these machines,
Anyway, if it doesn't have "Burningman" in the title, I think it's okay. Although, I have to admit that I've always been aware of it on the level of language, not visually.

I've been busy, and it slipped my mind, until the other night when my girlfriend brought it up. That store has the same machines...so the same vendor. Ill get the info and check em out. That particular label has been gone for a while, but I notice they circulate the different toys from store to store.marcgorcey wrote:Why did you wait a few months before alerting us ?
Is it still there ?

It was a graphic, from an actual photo. Not sure if touching it up "artistically" voids BM's photo rules...I doubt it.theCryptofishist wrote:Damn, I'm obsessed with those tiny tins with puppies that go inside.TomServo wrote:and yes I buy toys from these machines,

Now that I think about it...this shit is made in China. And I'm assuming the labels are as well. Don't give too much thought to copyright shit..but I would imagine BM wouldn't care for the man being used to market to kids. Let alone, the possible reprecussions. I still remember the PMRC. I'm a little paranoid after seeing how the law works first hand. Got arrested twice, for the same offense. D.A.'s can charge you with anything they want. Can't wait till this shit's over.
