I've lost 17 lbs since last September. I now weight 171. Getting rid of the little tummy isn't easy. Most exercises hurt my joints/body. I'm happy with my body though, little tum or not. I'm comfortable in my skin. :D
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Thank you. I'm already on top of the ginger, milk thistle, and tumeric, and have an arnica/cayenne balm, so I feel good about that. Already doing low sodium too, and my blood pressure is very happy now! Always can make improvements though.

I have had tendonitis in my thumb, but got around it okay. This is in my foot, so not using it is awkward and frustrating. Even in the pool, it is not great. Time and rest, rest and time. Both are in short supply during playa prep.

yeah it is! The bennies of losing this weight has been good for my hips especially. I was looking at a picture of me from last year and I was a bit porky! LOL Even if the weight came back I'd still be happy with myself!!

I thought I found the neato hiking trail, been on it for over a week. Then got a blister. Took a couple days off for it to heal. Went back yesterday, bruised my heel. Went walkies on pavement today. just meh.
I can't have nice things.

Been walking on the trail, shoes breaking in funky but ok. The lining at the heal wants to fold. It's ok, I have worse issues w my socks. Haven't had a blister since prev post.

I took the day off today because 1) I got a very late start at 11 am, 2) I left the house wo having eaten anything and I'm back on the 2 shakes & a meal plan. Lost 6 lbs so far. So when the hunger hits it is serious. And 3) I've been dealing with the back of my ankles being cramped up and sore. It's from the hiking and I just wanted to let the muscles heal a bit today before I really hurt myself.

I've lost 15~20 pounds, mostly no appetite, which made calorie counting easy

Uh oh.... This thread is still alive.

Walked between five and six miles yesterday. Pruned a tree this morning -- lugging ladders, climbing, juggling chainsaw. I bicycle to buy a newspaper most days. Walk up stairs in the barn a couple times most days. Normal activity, I would think.
But... come evening, seems I always "reward myself" with more food than I ought to. Not one cup of yogurt, but two, or three, or four. Too much poppy seed dressing on the salad.

At least I'm not living on french fries and nacho chips, like some people!

Bicycling 12-15 miles a day weather permitting.

Now if only the rain would stop.

Well, I see what you did there.
But seriously, for those who normally do not bicycle, a bit of practice/training before TTITD is highly recommended.

Actually I really am getting in about 50-60 miles a week, but we've been getting rain 1-2 days a week.

If I recall its was a post by you somewhere several months ago that inspired it. Something about toughening up the butt and the legs for spending a lot of saddle time on playa for those that don't bike regularly. Made total sense to me, so I pulled down an old bike that had been up in the rafters of my barn for 15 years and got started once the snow cleared out. Since then I bought a good bike and have been totally grooving on it (The good bike won't go to the playa with me. I don't want to have to do a full frontal derailluerectomy on it!).

That's when I learned the lesson about my butt. It was so sore for weeks. Better now than on playa. :P

Thanks for the advice!

That's wonderful, ZigZag! You are doing it right.

Knobdyspcl.... That seat -- and it is indeed a seat, as opposed to a saddle -- solved a post-surgery problem for a gent last year, and may suit some people.

When I tried it, I almost crashed, because I couldn't stay in line with the bike.
Turns out, there is a reason why bicycle saddles have a long narrow front section. Sandwiching that "horn" between our legs keeps us from rotating our butt from side to side. Like a train, we are "on rails". Without that horn, I found my body rotating from side to side with each pedal-push, and with my body... my arms, and thus the handlebar.
