AW, that's kind of you...perhaps you should look into your budget and camping plans, you have a lot of travel plans to make!!

Being an overseas and or long distance traveler to BM, I suggest you look up some of the camp threads...try "camp dues" thread and check out the others too...you can camp alone but I think joining a camp could be ideal for you...some giant RV's joined our camp, also tiny tents, all sorts of burners :)

Make every minute count at BM, arrive on time and stay a couple days late to help strike camp and MOOP, if possible. I stayed until Weds. it was great!

Thanks dude i have looked at the "Theme camp and overseas burners thread" which suits my budget and plans perfectly, i want to stay after help clear up as getting there early and helping set up doesnt seem feasable, though i would love to (dammit i would love to quit dreary england and stay over there)
I'm kind of in the travel alone mind set, get over there and hope to make friends set up camp with them or move in as i have been plannig it for so long, plus that feels a bit like a "rite of passage", something you have to do alone, at least at the start anyway once ive got there i hope things will be radically different, seems there are more than a few people i would like to meet a LOT of things i would like to do. Not making any hard and fast plans though.
at the moment i am just waiting for confirmation the moneys in the bank to get my ticket

Early enrty might get offered, depends on your situation. I was offered but I had to turn it down. However staying late, you don't need a pass for that, help strike and MOOP, it'll work out well...things are still happening late, trust me, lol

Dr Pyro has barbie death camp & wine bistro, he throws a meet n greet, 6pm, Thursday, i met him but missed the M&G, i'll go this year...bring some wine or something along...everyone from eplaya is invited, you too! Bring women! haha

camp dues that thread seems to be a VERY good one to read also.

Edit: spelling

Maybe you could add your location to your profile? Might meet a next-door neighbor on here, you never know!

ALWAYS drink beer. (Too bad it's impossible to get live beer here... THAT would be a treat!)

What do I long for from there that you can't get here?

(1) Marmite-flavored crisps. Or pretzel sticks.

(2) Yorkshire Hard Water tea. Tea here tastes like chit (someone shoulda lynched Thomas Lipton!) , you can't get a good cuppa anywhere. And it somehow cuts the playa-itis of the palate. Nothing quite like it.

(3) And, yeah... Spotted Dick. The stuff here in the cans is usually so old... well... let's just say it goes splendidly with the cuppa Liptons. :|

I am hoping that if i can make arrangements to have everything i need, pre bought and payed for (by me) and only need to bring my own clothes, costumes and toys AND GIFTS for the people that have entertained me on here, i can maximise my own pleasure and reduce my panic through my own efforts. I am fully aware that to make serious plans as what to do and where and with whom is folly of the highest order for a birgin like myself, however (very big however) should i manage to actually acheive to meet the people i would like to meet to have the opturtunity to give them something they otherwise wouldn't have would be -108
So let make a list of things i can bring there are a few things already

pernod/pastis/absinthe seem to be the best alcohol choices
squashed fly biscuits, eccles cakes (if i can)
cool sweets and herring flavored candy covers the food front i think
propper chip shop malt vinegar - i will even ask my local chippy for a bottle of his...
marmite?
I was thinking- green and blacks organic hot chocolate powder? can you guys get that?

if i cant find the people who suggest these things i can always give them to DPW or whoever is still there when i go, that or eat/drink them myself

oh Flake chocolate and Smaties in a tube!!!!

edited to add :how could i forget elderflower cordial!

I'm sure it's been done, and dropped into a deep fat fryer.
we can get marmite and vegemite here. I prefer vegemite. and breakfast buscuits... but that may be more of a NZ AU thing. Lee's brand specifically I miss.

I am going to order some elderflower cordial online. I think it would be a nice playa treat.

I suggest taking REAL Cadburys chocolate to the states so that our American brothers and sisters can sample GOOD chocolate..

Green and blacks is always a winner..

Also Co-operatives own 'truly Irresistable' Fair Trade Spiced Orange variety

And the butterscotch one is rather orgasmic too

The think is, Cheyenne, that swiss and belgian chocolate is imported without a bat of the eyelash. And then you have Traitor Joe's selling it at scary prices. And then we are having a sort of chocolate revolution here as well. So I don't know if we will be as impressed as you might think. And once again, chocolate in the desert is...um...problematic.

I got sick of that Ritter stuff when I did some work in Canada.

I don't care if the chocolate will end up in a puddle on Playa, I'm bringing some of the co-operative fair trade organic stuff and putting it in a ziplock bag and leaving it in a cooler :)

A batch of fudge once survived under the seat of our cargo van for a week at the burn. We forgot it was there. It was quite nice during exodus.
