If you could talk to anyone, living or dead before you die

Post by maryanimal » Sun Jul 10, 2011 6:51 pm

Who would it be?

I would love to have dinner with my gramma. She passed when I was sixteen. I'd love to sit and talk about things over a great sicilian dinner.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

God. If God is not available, that handily answers a question, and I would say my Mom (1948-1990). She was the best.

My dad died when I was 13, so I never really had a chance to have an adult conversation with him. I learned so much more about him after he was gone, I'd love a chance to have that chat. I've actually had a few in my dreams...
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Love to have met my Dad's father. He looked to have been quite a character. :)

My grandpa. He died year before I was born. He drowned in lake during my parents honeymoon, which I actually think put stigma on their marriage, and his death is actually part of the reason I was born...they wouldnt hurry to have baby if that didnt happen.

All the people who new him talks about him very nicely and I would love to speak with him:)

Eleanor of Aquitaine, the grandmother of Europe. Or my Great Grandmother (Mum's Mum's Mum) who was killed by a hit and run when my Grandmother was only 20. None of us got to know her and I think it would have made the family richer to have her around longer.

Gonzo would like to talk with Frank Zappa
If he doesn't have have an answer, there's probably no answer.

I would like to have a long talk with Terry Prachett. He's still alive, and he probably has a lot to say, and it would surely be entertaining.

My list is pretty much ever changing...

Sam Clemens/Mark Twain, in part because I would like to know if I really am related to him.

Hunter S. Thompson, because I want to know if I am interpreting part of "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" correctly.

Michael Talbot, because I would like to discuss his book "The Holographic Universe"-- esp. since, being dead, he should have some of the answers to his speculations on the nature of reality.

For similar reasons, any number of the folks talked about in Deborah Blum's "Ghost Hunters". In particular William James, Leonora Piper (or pretty much any of the psychics deemed legitimate).

ah, I could keep coming up with names.

I'd go with the living person. Dead people are boring conversationalists.

You obviously haven't been reading what I've been reading...!
