Leave the house date

Today is one month till the date we have circled as our Leave for Burningman day. This is our first possible leave date. We will be nomads for the trip up there. Taking a peek at the Grand Canyon and such. My to do list is still tooooo long.

My "onemonthtoleavethehouse" date is 2 days after yours.

Before then I have to not only get all MY shit together, but also somehow get all the kids back-to-school crap in line as well as find places to hide food for 3 weeks so that I can call them from time to time (or have a friend do so whilst I'm onplaya) to let them know where there's more to eat ('cause I'm SURE that they'll eat up everything I buy in the first 3 days regardless how much I get).

I try not to think of it unless I'm DOING something about it.... chipping away at the list... it seems a bit insurmountable otherwise

We call a cooler an esky. And I will buy one when I get to Reno. But will make sure I torment shop staff at Kmart/Walmart and ask them where the esky's are.

Ah ha
Here, for many years, the only brand of cooler was Eskie. Thus, in the great aussie tradition of giving everything a nickname, coolers became Eskies and then coz we are lazy we shortened it to Esky.

Given our close proximity to Fiji they probably also only had Eskies.

Now we have many different brands - but they are known as Esky's

Thanks, I've been wrong all these years. I got told a tale about eskimos... I also learned that if you include your preferred answer in a question, it will always be confirmed, whether you are right or not. "Do you call them eskies because it comes from eskimo, and igloo?" "Yes"

I suspect the "original" brand might have been Eskimo Cooler or something like that!

and yes they will not contradict an answer - or answer "I don't know" if they don't know.

That especially sucks for getting directions
