My Favorite Fossil
I'm really appreciating the hard work (including the hard work of saying the same thing over and over again) that trylobite has been putting. Especially after losing AntiM, it's very nice that this board has a voice of sanity. I know I'm burnt and short in the (I just can't look away and not see the trainwreck) ticket sub-forum.
Thank you, Trilobyte!

Re: My Favorite Fossil
Trilobites are fun. I have one on my shoulder (Corynexochina). But halucinogenia sparsa is better. But my absolute favorite fossil is Anomalcaris saron, which is the big fossil on my back.

I just hope after all these years he has finally fixed his goggles.

I wouldn't want to get too greedy. You know how it is, you go out to pick up a trilobite, and you see a cute smilidon with that "come hither" look and the next morning you wake up having blown your salary for the next six months on an archeopteryx.Isotopia wrote:Why choose only one when you have the Burgess shale.

I about flipped when I saw it being placed in the beam hutch. I think the English term is gobsmacked.

Been doing field geology on and off for 25 years... The tendency, as noted by Fish, is alive and well....
Ya find this cool fossil...I'm sure there's anther here... Look! whole brachs that just pop out the rock! I need a crate full! If I skip lunch I can find 100s of miocene shark's teeth!... No trilobtes here but tons of trilobits... Look at the ultra cool tiny fossil in the 50 ound slab...good thing I brought the truck...
You should see the amazing amount of 99% useless fossils I have amassed... I swear they multiply at night...
sheesh
