What's Worse?

Post by ebaynelson » Mon Jul 12, 2004 8:18 pm

My wife and I were discussing this, and my first response was that I would sooner sleep with a sister-in-law than my brother's girlfriend. But the more I thought about it, the more I really wasn't sure, so I decided to put it to popular vote. Whaddya think?

Damn, is this even marginally related to the event?

Hmmm..... I can't decide which would be worse. :? It would be even more difficult if you were asking about having sex with one or the other!

umm, wouldn't your brother's girlfriend be your sister in law if they were to get married. What's the diff?

I think I will just stick with sleeping with myself....

Okay, yeah, if everyone involved is married, then both would be your sister-in-law. But just because the term is the same doesn't make the concept the same. There a big difference, in my mind, between shtupping someone related (by blood) to my wife and going where my brother has been. The latter idea is just not appealing. As for the former, I guess the issue is further complicated by the fact that my wife has four sisters; I hate to admit it, but the degree of my revulsion depends a bit on which one we're talking about. One has some hygiene issues.

And geez, Badg, since when does a topic have to be related to the event itself to be posted on the ePlaya?

I'm not asking the question because I'm debating which illicit affair I should have. It's purely hypothetical. For her part, my wife thought it would be more traumatizing to find out that I had been with her sister. Either way, however, she said either would result in the disembodiment of my penis. Perfectly understandable. It just seemed like just that type of disturbing question that was ripe for an internet poll.

Well, considering I've known the youngest since she was six years old, yes, she does feel like my sister. Which is why this is not a question that will translate to reality.

Your comments above certainly reinforce my observation stated above it.

This poll hasn't helped much in answering this philosophical debate, so I had no choice but to conduct some research.

Yesterday marked two years since my brother started dating his girlfriend, but he's such a schmuck I knew he'd forget. While he was working the evening shift, I dropped by their place with a dozen roses, ostensibly to commemorate the occasion. As predicted, she swooned at my romantic overture, and her thank you hug turned into a torrid romp on their couch. So we're going at it full throttle, but all of a sudden, mid-coitus, I notice a slight change in her expression. Being the sensitive male, I ask her if everything's okay - you know, if she's still comfortable bent over the armrest - but she averts her gaze and asks if we could stop. Confused, I oblige. We sit in silence for a while, and eventually I ask what's wrong, if it was something I did. She finally brings her eyes to mine, and says "No, it's not you, and it's not that I'm been dating your brother. You're both great, but it's still doesn't measure up to what I had with my sister's husband."

So there's one perspective. Now I just have to confirm what my wife's sister thinks.
