While the spam issue is being dealt with, please use this thread to bump the spam from the "regional and events" area, by posting some sort of witty thought for the day in this thread. Your help in keeping this spam in check is appreciated until an admin person can delete the spammer's accounts. Everyone with the ability to delete a user is still in transit, so I guess we will make the best of things for the time being.

They just need to revamp the new user access rights. I do this on my forum and it works quite well. Dont allow posting of links untill after you have 10 or more posts. Also need to have a better sign in procedure. That will keep the bots off the board.

They have added three new mods, this in addition to Trilo's promotion earlier this summer. The timing on all this was less than ideal; however that's how it happened. Now there will be more time to fix this, and less distraction than there was pre-burn. It might well be that this will be enough and next year the board can sort of run itself for ten days.
