I can remeber dozens of stupid threads started for no aparrent reason .like you are all (fill in the blank) to me.

in fact I started more than a few myself. there are hundreds of threads on here that get one reply or none at all, so stop picking on the newbie or you may end up with one less virgin burner next year because she feels if this is what eplaya is like whats the playa going to be like?

TG, the space is a bit limited at BDCamp, also time (only a handful of hours) is precious at the M&G, we converse and try to meet as many of each other as possible. I think board type games or similar is the idea dear. What are those little plastic word board puzzle things from the 1960's called? Maybe we can team up on one of those together and try to spell a word or two...(that's about all I'm good for) if that.

Yes, the ninja game could go over big on playa with healthy young burners, haha, with mountains of energy (illy dilly, et al) but some of us older ones would probably end up injured, hahahaha! We need the ice for drinks, not bruises. heh heh.

I like the Ninja game--though I would want to play it sober, with other (somewhat) sober people, and not with the whole crowd. Maybe it could be tournament style.

That said, I once saw an immense game of Duck, Duck Goose break out on an empty corner near Ice station 9. At least 50 people. (There may have been multiple ducks in play. A friend yelled at me to participate, but I was wearing flip-flops and had to decline.

No reason ninja's couldn't happen on the playa- there was a light-saber battle (2010?), there have been multiple role-playing type things I don't do, there's been an attempt to have the most Supermen ever for the Guinness Book. It probably wouldn't work for MnG, but there's no reason it couldn't happen on the playa.

I would, however, highly recommend waiting until your second year to start planning it (ask any of this years crop of birgins). For your first year focus on getting there & surviving, and maybe volunteering a few shifts somewhere. Make sure you like Burning Man, discover what you want to do there, give yourself the freedom to have fun without worrying about creating an "event".

The game is played with about 10-15 people in a circle. There are multiple of these circles. From each circle comes a winner. Then those winners face off in one or two circles depending on how many people are there.

In each circle it starts off with a countdown with everyones hands in the middle. When you get to one every one jumps back and holds there ninja pose. The one who counted down makes the first move. Only one person at a time can "attack" making one move. the can swivel or jump to get closer. The person in defense can only make one move as well. It the attacker hits your HAND and only hand. You are out. It is not very athletically challenging thus good for most people. You really have to think about what move you will make based on what you think yours attackie will make.

I have signed up for a few spots already for ice and lamplighter. I want to do some to help even though most have said I should not. I want to emerse my self all the way as it is alot of money to be spent and don't want to be drunk or hungover the whole time. I want to do something that actually matters to me and to others.
