Lemme tell ya, once upon a time I was a young bride and trying so hard to be sweet, you know? And my dear husband took me to the Taj Mahal. We were wandering around that magically beautiful place bein' all lovey-dovey romantic, you know how that goes... so I was totally steeped in sweetness when a very ragged beggar came up to us, as they do, and grunted at us. Actually his tongue had been cut out. I knew sometimes people will do that to their kids over there to make better beggars of them, but, it was just pitiful. So he's grunting at us pretty persuasively, right, when I looked up at my husband and said, all wide-eyed just like Dorothy:

"Oil can! He said, 'oil can!' "

I never went back to fake sweet. So that is why I will see all you jokers in hell.

Back when I worked in a cardiac cath lab, we had just finished an emergency angioplasty and were moving the patient to her gurney. Unknown to us was the fact the patient had a bed pan underneath her from the ER.

As we moved the patient, she being semiconscious, reached under herself and grabbed this bed pan out from under and flung it toward the nurse on the opposite side from me. It was full of shit and piss and blood and it hit the nurse right smack in the face. After the initial pregnant pause of realizing what just happened, I said, "Well that gives a whole new meaning to shit faced now doesn't it?"

The nurse was absolutely appalled. She was somewhat new to the scene and had never experienced something like that before. Ohhhhh she was pissed at me and thought I should have been "more empathetic" to her situation. I've had every bodily fluid you can imagine indiscriminately shared with me over the years and have grown too jaded I guess.

But that nurse never forgave me for that. Especially since she threw up shortly thereafter.
