Unfortunately, 'Patch' is taken, but Patsh sounds the same.

This name was given to me by my niece's sweet three-year-old this summer, shortly after I met her, her twin brother and their one-year-old little brother for the first time. She may not be able to spell all that well yet, so, it's probably OK.

*canters up on War Rabbit© *
well, things seem to be settling in for everyone ok? Did it seem "different" this year to anyone but me?

So, if we tried for a "fall" Hof party, when would work? I know folks need time to get life together and such, especially any friends coming from a distance.
Late October? Early November?

Yes Yggy, it was different indeed
there since the start (skipped a few when work was too big)
but it was I think what was originally dreamed about..a portal
a time for those from everywhere , of every land and of every age to find themselves a point of community.
and there was Marty always describing it to them with perfect calm

One of our vendors came up to me yesterday and said "hey I heard you went to Burning Man! I wanted to go for years".
I was about to start talking to him about it but then he said "did you get pictures of all the naked hippy chicks running around?"

Funny.

My descriptions are pretty non-specific.
No one here has ever heard of it.
I had a doctor say oh, I thought you might have been talking about burning man.

He's from the west coast, but has never been.
He wants to go now though.

Going off the grid tonight. For the next week or so we'll be on the deep blue waters of the Pacific ocean heading toward Hawaii. No computer - no phone - pure relaxing decompression time.

oh yeah. Hof Party sounds cool. October, before it starts snowing I'd think. Let's fire up the stove and cook something in the oven.

Bye Grai! Take it easy, and they say "if it is easy, take it again."

well, my car was putting out some white steam this morning from under the hood at stoplights, and a nice smell of coolant was in the air. Green wet engine when I got to work. I filled up with water, and drove to the garage on the way home. It's not leaking badly, no puddling while it sat in the parking lot all day, and I got home o.k. without overheating. SO HAPPY this didn't happen two weeks ago! hoses, maybe thermostat housing... hoping it's just a hose. Alright, just got the call... 22 dollar part, has to come from the dealer, adding to that an oil change. couple bills. Won't be ready until the afternoon. I need to charge my electric bike battery. I need get past the dirty burning man junk to get to the back of the garage where the bike is. Guess I'm riding my bike to work in the morning. My little car is on notice: no long standing unreliability will be tolerated. Thankful I got a little trike riding in on the playa... might make the bike saddle a tad easier.

Good morning all!!

Elorrum, I hope your car gets fixed soon, and that you were able to reach your bike!

We've been having glorious rain here the last few days... much needed and rather unusual. Makes weed-pulling so much easier, and since I've been gone so much lately, the yard is out of control! Got alot done yesterday after work, and about two more two hour sessions ought to do it. Once the rain stops, it only takes a day or two for the ground to dry up and grab the roots, making them almost impossible to pull. "un-make hay while the sun doesn't shine".

Still alot of dusty things to deal with, though progress is being made a bit at a time.

Our Decom is in October, up near Flagstaff, for 4 days, and all this dusting off is getting me ready for that. It's the 10th to the 13th. If the Hof party will be in Oct., I doubt I'll be able to make it there... fooey!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day :D
Now, down to business :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

edit to add: Seems the bar was closed for some time last night~ glad to see it's open again!

Hi Patsh! good to hear your gettin some rain and all.
If I can pull off a Hof Party, it'd be late Oct/early Nov. I've come home to a shit storm of stuff and it's gonna take some time to wade through.
Looking forward to the air race campout in Reno this weekend, that may be my decom, except for the S.F. one that coincides with the staff meeting for the dept.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Yup, I was thinking it was our 6th annual, got corrected, this is the 7th annual air race campout.
Oneeyeddick came in and said, they know they cant see the planes from the back yard all the time right?
I said DUH...If you are a big race peep, we have a quad that will take you up our back hill for front row seats...
For the rest of us...its Visiting time <3

Titwi will be at the races both days till 4'ish with his Elder uncle. So Im your Hostess...I think I will manage. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

P.s. Yes, the playa(my burn) was different this year, extremely different. Not bad, just different. Am fighting a bit of regret on missing a couple of things, but working through it. No REGRET damnit!

And was it only me regressing? But my 16 days on playa felt like FOUR! WTF? I want more! Why did it go away at light speed.

Reminds me of late late Thursday night...Im standing hanging out at a neighbors bar, Monkey Experience? Eating Midnight bacon. A Young lady of 85-90+'ish walks up to the bar, and then ducks down on its edge to light her cigarette, the breeze is too much so I assist and hide the wind, she lights her smoke, looks me square in the eyes and reaches into her brazier and flashes out a sticker, she says...FUCK you IT Magic...and hands me the sticker printed with the same thing, I look down to read it and POOF, shes gone when I look up. (((((PRICELESS))))
Names pinemom, but my friends call me "Piney".
