Thank you, peeps!!
I seem to have lost touch with the art of celebration.

For now, I am going to listen to my happy song...

Awesome, Whooshie!
The Octopus was the best! Sorry you forgot how to Celebrate. were you spending too much time with books and dull dry facts?

Of course, dull and dry facts it is...
But in general, in my mind, everything becomes something that is "expected out of me"... going by my own standards. Maybe because I am too critial of myself.

I was a member of Friends of Frodo, ostensibly a group of people obsessed with the cat.
Sort of a newsletter about everyone, while apparently focusing on Frodo's activities.
There were all sorts of novelties with Frodo's image, keychains, anything you can think of, labelled Friends of Frodo.

Frodo never wrote though, maintaining an imperial silence.

To add into prior conversation...

I design and optimize wireless telephone networks for a living.

Cellphone jammers (intentional or accidental) kinda fuck my day. I can roughly "see" when people use them on my network in my statistical information. If they're persistant transmissions, I have the gear and knowledge to pinpoint them. The FCC won't come and find them. I will. Then I'll tell the FCC where they can find them. Whatever your complaints are about the political actions of the FCC, they respond pretty quickly when license holders have proof of willful signal interference.

Knowmad, you made the distinction of jamming a rude person versus jamming a phone tower. Your jammer, and radio waves don't make those distinctions.

Also keep in mind, you'll be doing what that person in the restaurant is doing at a much higher frequency. He's blasting a bunch of noise, so people can't enjoy themselves at around 0 to 4000 hertz. You'll be blasting a bunch of noise up around 1900MHz in a wide band, so that other people can't enjoy themselves however they so choose. Why do you get to be the same kind of jerk, but at a higher pitch?

In general, I can't support technological fixes for people problems.

Please don't go around busting up my invisible shit. I put it there for a reason, and it makes me sad when people come and interfere with it.

AWW Nipple! I miss you.
but really, sorry.
If I light up my Jammer for about 2-5 seconds while some Overbearing "Friend" is doing the "Bla-Bla", I'm pretty sure that your system will recover. There's will probly lose signal, that was the point.
bunch of people are over reacting, it's not a big strong Brod band signal, I'ts a short jab in the blab.
I do respect the Structure of Com-Chanel, and those that work to hold them open. I also believe I have a right and an abillity to make someone STFU.

it's interesting, this conversation:
it also then plays to
" I don't like hearing the music you are listening to"
" I don't like how you dress"
"hey, don't talk loud to that guy sitting next to you"
"you are crumpling that news paper too loud for me"

etc....etc.

but then again the pure rudeness of some people, and the music, phone calls, conversations, that subject the rest of us to.

Hi gang........hey good trick, knowmad, sort of like a kick stand, huh? well, for as long as it lasts..........

Gotta batten down the hatches, "they" are calling for big, heavy rain storms, super warm with snow levels of 7 or 8 K ft. At that, they could melt snowpack, making unseasonable runoff with heavy rain and melting snow combined.
Good thing most reservoirs are way down, as is usual going into winter, to buffer the rivers for the big cities in the valley.

and, I just saw that the murdered ambassador (to Libya) Stevens, was buried here in Grass Valley, the other day, secretly (just at the time for family privacy). He was born here.

Welcome back!

Chilly and rainy here, a good day to be inside. Nearly done with the 'radial swingarm sliding compound mitre cutoff chopsaw' bench. Probably over engineered for my needs, but since when did that ever stop any of us?

Looking forward to hearing ticket news, and the accompaning eplaya adrenaline rush that will surely result from it. One step closer to the dust!

Mmmm, coffee.

Yikes, Yggy, button up indeed! That storm is staying pushed to the north, so we won't see much of it. We could use it, we have a valley inversion and the red air quality is actually already visible. I hate it, means I'm not supposed to go outside unless necessary.

wow, your bench sounds perfect!! and no, never "over engineered".....just "stout"......if you take a few pics and post em in "Work in progress", we can all admire it!!!

I gotta get some granite carved today, before "the storms" hit for the next 5 days they are saying.
